424 words and I've spent most of it discussing The Matrix. My tutor will either hate me or love me - and I am so going to have to edit this essay down, since I have about 1076 words left and I haven't even brought up the main philosopher I'm using yet.
"What is real? How do you define 'real'? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can small, what you can taste and see, then 'real' is simply electric signals interpreted by your brain."
- Morpheus, The Matrix
That is basically exactly what this essay is about. My head may explode before I'm finished. You have been warned.
(It's actually kinda fun though. ^__^)
EDIT: If LJ tells me that ONE MORE THING is in 'read only' mode when I want to post a comment...
... there will be pain. Loooots of pain. -_-
EDIT: 657 words. I'm starting to get bored now.
EDIT2: 1,468 words and I am so done. It's an absolutely appalling essay - stream of consciousness much? - but I quite enjoyed using Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds to prove that all sensory perceptions could be illusions, and reading up on The Matrix was fun, so I'm not really bothered. I did well enough on the last two that a bad mark won't bring my average down enough for it to matter much. Now there's just the effort of doing the bibliography. *sigh*
EDIT3: Whoa, when did it get to almost half three in the morning? I have to meet the English people at 10... this morning. I should go to bed. Essay is done, if unedited, bibliography is done and it felt really bizarre to cite John Lennon and Paul McCartney in my Bibliography. I am so going to get a terrible mark for this essay. *smirks* But it was so *fun*.
To bed!
