So...

Fic...

Okay, before you all kill me - Parisian Dreams is turning into another Bounty. Only difference is, with Bounty it took me three month to write around 11,900 words. Parisian Dreams just hit 10,800, with at least another 2,000 to go, not counting how much rewrites will push that up - and it's taken me less than a week so far. And I know I could stay up until 6am, 7am, to finish it tonight but I like this fic. Pushing it like that will end in ruining it - and it's not as if I'm not writing, 2,000 words tonight alone but it wants to be around 12,000, 13,000 and I need sleep. Not to mention I absolutely despise a couple of the scenes in this part and they need rewriting. So can I sleep? Please? For the sake of better fic?

I'll give you an extract...

“For the last time, I’m not trying to ‘steal’ Andy!” Mardy’s voice rises in exasperation. “Can you not just let it go, for fuckssake! If Andy is that easy to take then you should be asking yourself if he was worth having in the first place!”

“Oh but he would be easy to take,” Roger replies softly. “If it was you taking him.”

Startled for the second time in the last five minutes Mardy stops, turning to look incredulously at Roger. The Swiss is hunched into his jacket against the winter chill, misery lurking in his eyes. Mardy sees it and softens, because all they’ve done all day is dance on the edge of truth and lies for their own benefit, Andy and Roger following blindly around the city in hopes of an explanation. Roger looks so defeated and forlorn that Mardy boldly slides his arms around the Swiss’ waist, pulling him in close. Roger lets him do it without resistance, surprise on his face as Mardy meets his eyes.

“I swear Roger,” he says softly, sincerely. “I would never and will never take Andy from you. Not like that. Okay?”

Roger shakes his head. “But if not that then why-“

“Ah!” Mardy lets go, stepping back. “That’s all you get for now. Come on.” He turns, continuing down the street, knowing Roger will follow. He’s a little shaken at the Swiss’ words – a day ago, hell an hour ago, he’d have said Roger was crazy, deluded, paranoid – he knew Andy only loved Roger. Period.

Now he isn't so sure. Which means the whole plan may work out simpler than they’d dare hope. If he can just convince Roger...

“Here,” he says, as much to drag himself out of his reverie as to alert Roger that he’s stopped. They’re standing outside a brightly lit doorway with a carefully placed bouncer, out of the way but clearly in evidence. Roger frowns, blinking at the thud of music coming from inside.

“I don’t-“

“Shut up,” Mardy tells him, producing a handful of euros to give to the bouncer who lets them pass without a word. The music gets louder as they go down a long corridor, hitting them full blast as they enter a huge room, packed with people. Roger backs up a step, Mardy wrapping an arm around his waist to stop him leaving.

“Mardy, this isn’t-“ Roger breaks off as he looks around, taking in the crowd and dim lighting, couples entwined together on sofas and against walls, lost in their own private worlds. “I don’t like this.”

“Tough,” Mardy yells back to him over the music. “We have a couple of hours to kill. Let’s go get a drink.”

He turns to push his way through the crowd, dragging Roger with him as he shakes off his last few nerves. He’s already hooked Andy - now to fish for much more difficult prize. As they reach the bar he leans on it and pulls Roger against him, wrapping his arms around the Swiss’ waist. Roger seems too dazed by the music and lights to protest and Mardy lets himself brush an open mouthed kiss across the dark curls.

“Now,” he breathes in Roger’s ear. “Time to enjoy my company.”

I know exactly where I'm going with everything. I just need enough hours in the day to type it up. It's 4:42am. If you want to kill me, do it after I've had some sleep?

Oh I hate epic fic. >_<

you, teasing us like this. It's not nice. (And we never gave you such cruel quites either.)

Quotes, we can't spell tonight. (My brain is mush, which is slightly unplesant.)

o_O

"Mardy is woken by warm, wet suction on his cock."

What part of that is not as cruel as this?!

Ummm ... okay, leave that quote out of it. The others were all not so cruel. (And Mardy insisted I put that one in there.)

Keer-ist that was quick. :) And oh come on! The others were cruel too! I almost died of suspense. Still am in fact considering none of them have been explained yet...

And if you want cruel...

"And abruptly he remembers he’s supposed to be in a different café entirely by now and if he doesn’t move even this will be wasted. He wraps an arm around an unresisting Andy and presses a brief, chaste kiss to his friend’s mouth. Andy doesn’t even flinch. His eyes are blank with shock and he seems stunned by his own admission. Mardy smiles and leans in to whisper in his ear.

“Later. For now, just… don’t do anything I wouldn't do.”"

Mardy insisting... Mardy muses are far too devious for their own good. *sighs*

ARGG!!! Don't make us threaten to withhold Omerta, because we will. *nods* We so will.

And Mardy is indeed devious. *pets him* But we loves him anyway.

NOOOO! *grate woe* I'll be good. I've been ficcing all night! In fact I'm considering splitting this part into two and having four parts overall, not three - which would mean you'd get the next part quicker, but you'd have to wait a few more days for the smut. What do you think? (this part is already way longer than the first two, so you'd still have plenty to read. ;) Sheesh. When did this turn into an epic?)

Don't withhold Omerta. *wails* I'll be good! I will!

*pets Omerta* You're good for so many things, aren't you? Right now, we'll take what we can get, we're dying to know what happens next.

A side note: the longhand copy of Omerta is nearly done, but it's now over 200 pages, which is a lot of fic. And we haven't gotten near everything we want to do with them done, so there might be a sequel and some ficlets (in comparasion at least) in the same universe. I'm not quite sure yet. After it's done, everyone will have to tell me what they think and if they'd be interested in reading more.

*sticks her tongue out* S'not fair, you having such good bribery material. Just wait till I start writing the Bounty sequel in Easter... ;)

YAY! And... that *is* a lot of fic. o_O Wow. But YAY for other fic in the same universe! :D I love it already, so anything set around it will be fantastic.

And okay... well I really just need to rewrite the first 800 words or so of this part now and it'll be done, so I'll try and get it up in the next few hours. Sundays are for sleeping anyway. *grins* (The way this is headed it's going to hit 14,000-15,000 words before it's done. *sighs*)

And then I'll have the Omerta sequel and it'll just get nasty. The whole fandom will bear the brunt of our fic-withholding wars.

Actually, Sundays are for mad notetaking and the like, not sleeping. Around here, I think our profs are of the opinion you can sleep when you're dead. *sigh*

*uses appropriate icon* One of the clubs in town actually uses 'Sundays Are For Sleeping' as a motto to get people to go there on Saturday nights. Everyone's picked it up and it's sort of become a motto for Lancaster students in general. :)

Oh dear. A fic-war sounds... exhausting. But we'd probably produce quite a lot of fic out of it so I think it'd be good for the fandom overall. Not good for out sanity, but then is anything good for that anymore?

*wails* I have to rewrite. I hate rewriting!

The problem with a fic-war, or at least a potential problem, would the I'm not posting mine until you post yours, and, yeah, well I'm nto posting mine until you post yours agruments Inmates are known for.

And then it would all descend into chaos and madness and... perhaps we'd better stick to fairly civilised fic posting. ^__^ There are some Inmate traditions that it's probably best to avoid if at all possible.

I have to agree there. (Despite the fact that we could pretty much hold the fandom hostage if we wanted to.)

... Okay, that's a scary thought. Inmates should not be given that much power over a fandom. o_O It could lead to terrible things...

Nope, past 4am is just wrong, unwritten student rules about getting no sleep nonewithstanding. And I'm working on it. :) It will be done soon.
