Ever had one of those days when achieving anything, even something simple, seems to take hours? *sighs*

There will be the final part of Parisian Dreams tonight, there *will*...(I do believe in faeries, I do! I do!)

Actually that just reminded me of something - a couple of months ago in Creative Writing I was pounced on by the tutor for using 'faerie' instead of 'fairy' but to me they're basically the same thing, though I do tend to prefer 'faerie'. Any opinions?

If I remember rightly, 'faerie' is the word in its original form. 'Fairy' was bastardised from it over many moons of linguistic evolution (possibly involving Americans). I'd use whichever one fit the context - if you were writing from a mediaevel (I never could spell that word) perspective I'd stick with 'faerie'.

But, um, yes - both are right. So tell your tutor where to stick it. *cough*

Yay! (It was a sort of medieval perspective, so I was right. *looks smug*)

Telling her where to stick is becoming more and more of a viable option lately. *sighs* Thanks! :)

*grins* Childhood trauma... sounds like a good reason to me!

Don't worry; I've been running round like a headless chicken this week trying to do everything and I still owe about six people LJ comments. There needs to be an extra day in every day. *sighs* And there will be more fic tonight if it kills me; it will however take a few hours longer than planned since I can't get out of something I'd planned on getting out of. *woe* But tonight! I've forbidden myself from sleeping until it's finished.

I prefer faerie. I used it purposely when we had to write a "fairytale" in my grade 12 Writer's Workshop class. Partially because the tale was set in Ireland but also because I just prefer it. It just seems for faerie-ish. You know, more mystical, more quaint, more old fashion, more ancient.
