It's raining. And yet somehow, I'm still going hiking. Why?

Because I'm f**king CRAZY.

Fic tonight if I don't fall off a Lake District mountain. Woe.

EDIT: I shouldn't have made that crack about falling off a mountain. We came very very close and I am in excrucitating pain. There will still be fic later, if a few hours later than planned.

Now excuse me while I go sit in a very hot shower for the next few days, hours,, minutes.

EDIT: A couple of pictures to give you an idea of what we climbed over today. We climbed - all the way up to the top and I have photos in my camera to prove it and all the way back down again - Helvellyn. Which apparently is the third highest mountain in England - somewhere around 3080ft I think - and today, delightfully, had eight inches+ of snow on top. Keep in mind that I am in no way a serious walker when I say we wlked - and basically rock climbed - over . I'm pretty sure we actually did climb along this ridge and these rocks, or at least their identical twins.

,

Add oh, around four inches of snow to that, plus actual snow falling and... I am never going hiking again. Ever. I survived but I have never been more aware that a single lapse in concentration would have actually sent me head first down sheer drops and probably all the way to the valley floor in some cases (thankfully the cloud was so thick we couldn't see exactly how far it was to fall.) We spent eight f**king hours on a mountain. It got to the point where you were just walking - in the dark over rocks and streams at the end - only because if you stopped, you would never be able to start again. Suffice to say the flatmate who didn't warn me how difficult it was going to be in not my bestest of friends right now. I'm a writer at heart. I pine for my laptop when I'm away for it for more than five or so hours. I like sitting in my room and not risking death on a daily basis. Hiking is... Just no.

Never. Again.

And now I've whinged about that - I am a little proud that I did it without breaking or spraining anything - I'm off to do my Creative Writing crits and finish this fic to post. It's still a little unbelievable that I'm *actually* sitting, intact - mostly -, in my room. o_O

You're a mad woman. I had hiking. Blech. I had to climb a very small mountain when I was on Grade five camp. By the time we got to the bottom, the teachers had to call someone from camp to come and get me in the car because I was about to collapse through exhaustion and probably dehydration. I so never want to do that again. Plus looking down rom the top made me dizzy.

I wanted a nice, relaxing walk. I specified no mountains. When I stop aching the flatmate who dragged me up there is going to get revenge visited on her.

Like I said, it's put me off for life. :)

Make sure the revenge is good.
