Ouch. I mean... *ouch* Roger. So maybe it's true, but what happened to the sweet little Swiss who never acted superior, especially to someone like Agassi? o_O It just seems a little... harsh coming from Roger. Oh well. I suppose no one can be constantly modest when you're as good as Roger Federer. Still, show some respect to your elders Roger. You never know, he may just hand your ass to your on a plate and then who'll feel stupid?

EDIT: He's back to his usual modest self later in the interview. Maybe a mosquito had just bitten him or something to put him in a brief bad mood. ;)

I think he has a bit of a point. He has beaten Agassi before, Agassi is not invincible. Yes he is still a great player but he's no longer the best. He's a definite threat and is the player most likely to put a spanner in the works of my dream set of semi-finals but he is beatable. I don't think he's won a grand slasm since Australia 2003 (correct me if I'm wrong).

Oh I agree with it - I just flinched when I read it, because Roger's not usually quite that abrupt. I remember Agassi giving him a fight at the US Open, far more than anyone else I think. Plus I also think it's very dangerous to ever confidently say "I can beat him without even playing my best" - just in case your opponent happens to have a really good match and you end up having to eat your words. ;)

Not that Roger will of course. Just... in tennis, you never know. That Japanese guy gave him a shock the other day. Me too actually.

Very true. I suppose it didn't really have much of an effect on me because I've never paid much attention to most of the players outside the Australian Open unless they are Aussie.....until recently.

Yes Suzuki was a surprise. And I don't think he looked all that comfortable yesterday. Agassi will definitely be a real test.

I wasn't expecting it. ^__^ Roger's usually so polite about other players not being as good as him. I did over-react I will admit, but I was just amazed he'd actually said that, about Agassi of all people who usually does pose at least more of a threat than a lot of people.

Roger's really not seeming as comfortable as Andy in this tournament so far - Andy's just rolling through people without seeming to pause for breath, while Roger's having a few more snags along the way. I really would love to see them meet in the final, even just from a purely none-slash POV - I have a feeling the standard of tennis would be unreal.

Yeah. I do think Andy has probably had the easiest draw. He's managed to avoid most of the seeds so far. He struggled a bit today though, especially in the second set. He was having trouble with his ground strokes...his serve was still impenatrable though.

I was watching the Live Scores for that set. :) He did have me worried. I wish I could actually watch the matches, because you get so much more of what's going on. (Though I'm going home to see the semis and the finals this weekend! *glee*)

I was watching ads. Starring Roddick. And going, wow, he's such a cute dork. I can live seeing him with Federer.
And at that point I went out before I did something silly.
Also. I can so see where all the fanservice-y tummy shots from PoT come from because DUDE. They just love flashing their belly-buttons, honestly.

Please don't get me into tennis. I will be required to try to learn and I already *know* that I'm horrible at it! (Learning Go is fine though. I wonder if there are any channels that will show Go being played by two hot young professionals? Humm)

Am also horrible at tennis. You could always sit back and admire the beauty from a safe distance? :) It's what I generally do, because actually playing involves effort and... I'm lazy. ;) (Besides, no one out there is as cute as Roddick/Federer. Mmmmm, tennis slash... ^__~)
