... but I think not knowing just makes even funnier. ^__^ I mean... it must be something v. good/v. bad to get that reaction. And despite the plotbunnies it's giving me, I have no time to do anything with them. But... I really wanna know what could've got a reaction like that.

Anyway, ficlet O didn't appear last night because... I was wandering lost in the wilds of mini-Writer's Block and asked Merc for a drabble plotbunny to give me a direction. That was at around 1am. At 5:30am I was emailing her the resulting 2000+ word fic. And now I've slept till half one and am still tired but the dad had the radio on in the next room and it kept waking me up so I gave up and staggered out of bed. I am going to be knackered tonight - I think I'd better have a nap at some point.

Amazon? Is an asshole. When you promise you'll deliver stuff before Christmas, it would be nice if you could dispatch it BEFORE DECEMBER 22ND. Morons. And they haven't even shipped it yet and it's the free delivery so there's not a snowball's chance in hell it'll get here in time. Gggrrrr. Stupid Amazon. I think in future I'm going to do all my shopping in mid-November on play.com, get it sent ready giftwrapped if possible then just sit back and enjoy Christmas. Because I went Christmas shopping with [livejournal.com profile] rainy_roz yesterday and the amount of money I've spent since I got home is truly depressing. I must've spent somewhere in the region of £200 on Christmas I think and it's not even over yet - I still need to get some nice earrings for the woman. Next term I'm having a strict budget and sticking to it, no matter what. I'm supposed to be saving money and it's just not happening. Sigh.

Plus all I've had for about the last month is stories from people about how cold Canada is whenever I mention it. REALLY? I thought that was the hot kind snow they were having at the moment. -_- But it did remind me of another thing I'd have to budget for; proper clothes for the weather which would cost me a fair bit. [livejournal.com profile] liroa15 is I did come would it be better just to bring a few clothes and go on a shopping spree over there do you think, or are clothes just as expensive over there as they are here?

And to conclude, I've said it countless times before, but Andy Roddick fangirls are still one of the freakiest things on the Internet. o_O Sure Feds' fans can get a little overenthusistic sometimes but his crazy fangirl count is minimal when compared to Andy's. *shudders*

And suddenly the phrase 'Fangirl Hunting Season!' popped into my head and I'm trying to work out if it's a plan or just lack of sleep talking...

"OMIGODWTF, they got me and Roger snogging in the ski-lift in Switzerland!"

Or he's pretending to be Carson Kressly, and some dude is wearing clogs.

I'm not sure it would be cheaper, but it'd probably be easier to find the stuff you need here, at any rate. We break out the winter sales in September so that we have warm (fashionable) clothes for October, November, Decemeber, January, February, and March. And April sometimes. It's a long winter, I promise you.

On the upside, you can get a lot of places on campus without actually stepping into the dreaded cold.

*grins* Yay for winter! And good point about it being easier to find the stuff over there. *thoughtful*

And being able to stay inside is good. Otherwise I'd probably turn into a snowman between lectures...

o_O I think I'll budget extra money for more warm clothes. And possibly a portable heater...

We do have heating in our houses, but all the extra heating you can come up with is usually a good idea. You get used to it eventually.

Probably just as I'm leaving to come home again. ;) But extra heating = good. Hhmm... thermal underwear?

I don't wear it, or I haven't since I was a kid anyway. Of course, I am (somewhat) used to the weather here. -30C with windchill this morning.

Whereas the coldest I've probably ever been is on the rare occasions we actually get snow... which isn't often enough for me to ever get tired of the cold. That is cold. Thermal underwear for me I think...

:p Cruel woman, laughing at the poor defenceless little British student. ;) But I suppose I'll be able to laugh when you come to Wales and see all the rain... so I guess it's fair. ^__^

And because I haven't said it for a while... SCHNEEBALLEN!! :D

*sigh* You and the German word for snowballs. Why do you love it so much?

And so it rains a lot. I'm hoping that it doesn't rain when I'm there. And itt really can't be any worse than when it rained in Japan.

Because it is teh coolness. It has schnee and ballen and it sounds so fun when you say and, and... YAY!! SCHNEEBALLEN!! *bounces happily*

It does indeed rain a lot and unless you're only here for a couple of days in the middle of summer, then you probably have a 95% chance of *some* rain while you're here. And our rain may not always be very impressive but it is quite... persistant. ^__^

Rain in Japan is like being in a ... I don't know how to describe it. But their gutters are at least 6 inches deep, and when it rains the water hits the concrete with such force that it soaks your pants up to the knees. We were there in the summer and it was cold, well comparatively at least.

As for persistant, the cold here is quite persistant, it will sometimes hang around until April. -20C or rain? I think I'll take the rain.

Dude. That's some rain. :) Lake District rain can be like that, but not all the time. Welsh rain - though we had a mini-monsoon last night - tends to be heavyish and go on and on and on...

But rain soaks you and trickles down your neck and is miserable. Plus we get it all year round, summer and all. At least cold you can just add extra layers or go inside and get warm without having to change soaked clothes. ^__^ I'd almost rather have the cold but having never experienced it, I'll withhold judgement until I have I think...

You better do that because after -25C as a high everyone just wants spring, where temperatures might even rise above zero.

*DIES* ^___________^

I'm thinking it may indeed be a plan. We should get Lilly in on it. She'd never forgive us if we left her out of this.

And you just know we'd start competing to see which Inmate could knock out the most fangirls...

Oh I could go on...

"Jesus, my back is really hairy!"

Amazon has been terribly cranky lately. Usually I get my free shipping stuff days before it tells me it's going to arrive, but with the holidays I think, the stuff I ordered back on the 5th hasn't shipped yet! But the book I ordered on the 19th shipped today. I don't know. Maybe we should just order everything in October :-P

Crazy Amazon. -_- *sighs* And yet they're offering HP6 with 41% off... so very tempting...

2006? October is going to be Christmas shopping month. Last minute is too stressful.

Crazy Amazon. Luckily the regular bookstores tend to have the HP books 40% off as well, so I'll be there at midnight :)

Count me in on that for 2005 too! In fact, how about we start collecting addresses for cards in, uh, August, shop in October, and maybe everything will be done by February? ;P

I'm very tempted to do the midnight-thing. My parents laughed at me when I suggested it. They don't understand the power of HP. *sighs*

That sounds like a plan! :D *makes a note on next year's calender* ^__~
