I went to bed on Andy losing the second set, so I was more than a little 'eep!' about checking the scores this morning. What happened in the second set Andy, you send your brain cell for a walkabout? Jeez. At least from the scores it seems that he didn't choke after it, which is progress and hey, even Roger goes walkabout during matches sometimes. Brick by brick as said Tobey Maguire, brick by brick.

I'm meant to be doing washing now but I need to go back into town because I forgot stuff yesterday when I was there. *facepalm* I did manage to watch the figure skating last night but Plushenko did nothing for me at all. With Lambiel I was hiding behind a pillow in mute horror at every wobble and Johnny Weir was so *good*, why the hell did he end up in fifth, but Plushenko was... "clinical" the commentators called him and it came across. At least Roger lets out a yell or a smile or *something* occasionally but Plushenko seemed kind've uninspired. Why should they bother even trying to make a show of it if all they have to do is hit each technical element right and that's it, gold medal? Makes me wonder if people come into tennis and ask "Why do they all go on about Roger Federer? He doesn't seem anything special."

Can't believe I need to go back to town. >_< Why do I live on campus again?

edit: Also Lambiel killed me with the little 'bunny ears' thing he does for the camera at the end. And Swiss! *loves* I was just upset by the fact he and Roger go to different Olympics, so they couldn't have hung out together in Athens, looking cute. Woe. They should hang out and be smug to each other about their awesomeness. And Lambiel should teach Roger to do the bunny ears after matches, because it might just kill me dead with cuteness-squee. :)

Okay, how awesome is that? People getting together to do something entirely silly and mad that went perfectly to plan and left everybody happy. It should stand as a lesson to us all; have more pillow fights.

K's flight to Oz took off forty minutes ago. :( She's not getting there until 6:30 Sunday, Aussie time and, more importantly, we're not going to see her for another four months. ;_; It's a weird feeling knowing that while we meet Neurotic English Student tomorrow (to share the work I haven't done yet; remind me why we couldn't meet on Sunday again?) and have several meals and sleep *twice*, she'll still be on a plane. That flight is going to kill me when I go. Maybe I need to talk people into coming with me for backup and we can stop over in Dubai and nose at that six star hotel Roger likes so much. Apparently the fountain in the lobby is great, which is good since that's probably as far as we'd get before they kicked us out.

I'm stubbornly fighting off a very tempting -- and totally inexplicable, since I had a good hour of power nap earlier -- urge to just go to bed. I can't be this tired. I went to town for an hour today and that's it. Argh.

Guys downstairs are playing horrendous, *loud* music again with the dumbest thumping beat I've ever heard. They've also lost any good will I might have towards them when they complained to the porters the other night about the freshers making too much noise... even though they really weren't, they were only throwing a birthday-dinner-thing for one of the next door freshers. They have the damn cheek to complain about us when the amount of times I've sat here an endured rather than calling the porter at two, three am with their damn music! So, not any more. I just wish it was 11pm already so I could get the porter to shut off the damn music they're playing now which is giving *me* a headache through the floor, so I can't imagine what it's like for them. I swear they must be deaf.

Caught the whole pathetic snippet of the ice dancing that BBC showed earlier and um, the Italian couple getting such insane marks? Let me think; the *judges* wouldn't be Italian would they? However I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about skating and all I've got to go by is what my somewhat-negative commentators say on it, so maybe they were just that good. Controversial isn't quite a strong enough word for it according to the impression I was getting though. I think like the figure skating better. Maybe the original dance'll be better than this one.

Lots to do, work to avoid, guys downstairs to piss off... be back to catch up on comments in a little while.
