I'm working. Really.
May. 2nd, 2005 02:55 pmSo, on the verge of starting some actual uni work about oh... two and a half hours ago, I'd randomly stuck Razorlight on for the first time since
dukedee sent it to me. 'Golden Touch' coming on almost had me falling off my chair in glee because I love it and I'd had no idea who sang it before now, so I stuck it on repeat to fully appreciate it... and by halfway through it for the second time, I decided the lyrics would be fantastic for a Mirka wallpaper. I think I have underlying guilt when it comes to Mirka, because she's adorable and I'm so dismissive of her usually in fic, so making a background solely for her seemed a good way to assauge that guilt and avoid doing work. *coughs*. Plus it's sunny and summery outside and I like my wallpapers to reflect the weather. So, in the course of many Google searches for pictures, I was very amused - and with my feminine pride, a little indignant - to find searching 'Roger's girlfriend' brought up a picture of her within the first three results. I also learned she was born in Slovakia and moved to Switzerland when she was two. *blinks* Wasn't expecting that one for some reason. And I found the most adorable picture...
( I just want to snuggle them both. )
*kicks the watermark* I want to tickle Roger to make him giggle like Mirka is. ^____^ Work? Why the hell would I want to work when this is so much more fun?
I then nearly died from laughter when I randomly found pictures of a guy streaking at Wimbledon and who I think is Lleyton in the background looking disdainful. *dies of giggles* The entire audience is cracking up and there's a ball girl chasing this naked guy with a blanket. I nearly cried, I was laughing so hard. ^_____^ Little things...
And since I have a lecture in an hour and there's no point starting work, I'm now going to have some lunch and try to catch up with some comments and admire my newly summer-coloured laptop. *pets it* And maybe put on a jumper because I'm bloody freezing. I knew making summer backgrounds would jinx the weather. *sighs*
Clo
EDIT: What did I say about jinxing it? It's now pouring down with rain outside.
There was a quote in The Three Musketeers that I read last night, that went something like "It was one of those rare summer days when England remembers that there is a sun." I was about to take offence when I remember (a) I'm Welsh so hah! *points and laughs at England* and, (b) um... it's actually true. Bloody smug French, always being right. Ahem. Sorry.

My stuff is in the UK and released for delivery! *wriggles with glee* I need to beg ask the 'rents to stay in Thursday to sign for it...
... oh smeg, I just realised I'm going home a week on Thursday and I need to have my Creative Writing portfolio done, preferably by Wednesday afternoon. Oh... bugger. Possibly I'll need to take a rain check on fic this week. Buggerbuggerbugger.
But, the main thing? My stuff is in the UK!!! *dances around the room* You have no idea how hard it is not to say what it is. *bites her tongue* ShutupCloshutupshutup. I love this whole tracking thing. It gives you the exact times and everything. *giggles* I also love that in four days it's been to three US cities and crossed the Atlantic. That's probably faster than I could do that.
I'm trying to comment on fic but I keep getting caught up trying to say deep, meaningful things which is just not happening when all I want to do is squee like crazy. *sighs* Alas for a tendancy to squee first and act sensible later.
There is some serious rainage going on outside my window right now. The car park actually has ripples going across it, there's so much water. o_O But hey, I'm on the top floor. We'll be dry longest. *grins*
... And when I said ripples, I wasn't exaggerating. Wow. *blinks* That's quite some rain.
Clo
EDIT: I have to stop reading the the most touching Dead Letters. They keep making me cry. Some of them are so beautiful but it feels like snooping through someone's most private diary y'know? *sniffles*
Rain stopped. *sighs mournfully*
