Researching Manhattan hotels for the current Roddick/Federer fic I'm working on, I idly stuck in some dates around my birthday at the end of October out of curiosity for prices and availability for the New York Palace. Based on four nights, the most expensive it came up with was;

Room Type: Tower Dlx 1-Bdrm Ste
1st Night: $1600.00
Average:$1600.00
Total: $6400.00

Does anyone *have* that much money to spend on a four night break?! Because... I could probably pay my accomodation for three years at Lancaster for not much more. Un-smegging believable.

And tennis players regulary get large suites. They are so f**king spoilt. S'not fair. *sighs*

In other news, have new black boots. Yay! Also have pretty purple handled cutlery. I *own* cutlery. (I can't even spell cutlery *headdesk*) I find this amusing for some reason.

In less good news, have... three days left. Room is disaster area since I've decided everything is getting packed Thursday so there's no point hanging clothes up only to stuff them in suitcases. Woe, much woe.

Have been told I must write more tennis slash, so I'm off to do that for a while longer. Suddenly realised just how much of my summer has been dedicated to Roddick/Federer. My obsession is either scary, or very funny. I'm leaning towards believing the latter, simply for my own sanity.

Heh. I remember watching "Top 10 World's Most Expensive Hotels" on the Travel Channel last year and the Plaza in NYC was the most expensive, but several of the others on the list were in Las Vegas. And they were definately more expensive than that.

It's just... think of what you could buy with money like that. Something that'd last far longer than four days. It's absolutely crazy.
