Yes I know, holiday pictures are dull. But I thought I'd inflict them on you to fill in the time till I post more slash. And some of them are kinda pretty. Austria's a very pretty place.

So, keeping in mind there are quite a few and they're average-to-big size pictures...

We took off at around 6am, so the sun was just rising as we leveled out. We were sitting right over the wing so it was difficult to get a picture out the window without a big chunk of metal in it but I managed to grab a few of the sunrise when we were banking and the wing dipped out of shot:

We got on the coach after landing but as we reached the village of Kitzbuhel, we were assaulted by a stampede of... cows!

Trust me. There were a *lot* of cows. Apparently they were coming down off the mountains for winter. Some of them were wearing bells bigger than footballs. How they held their heads up I have no idea.

We wandered up into Kitzbuhel later to have a look around. This is the main street:

Observe the quaintness. The horse and carriage is just faintly visible in the distance.

Monday we decided to climb the Kitzbuheler Horn. Or rather catch the gondolas and cable cars up and walk down. We realised as we looked out the cable car window that we were going to be swinging from a thin wire in a heavy metal box and felt somewhat apprehensive. The clouds didn't help:

But we got up okay and managed to grab a few pictures without falling off. Though I'm suddenly wondering how stable that fence behind me was:

Tuesday was Salzburg. Can you believe this river was in the middle of a city? I couldn't. It was unbelievable.

They also had the coolest fountain with four stone hippocampi spouting water:

And they seemed very fond of horse drawn carriage-rides. We walked up and down the street by these horses and every time we passed them I stopped to say hi to every horse. The mother got less and less impressed every time:

Wednesday was Grossglockner. Observe the clouds:

Our coach drove up 32 u-bends in these clouds. It was terrifying. I loved it. We didn't get to see any golden eagles but we did see the Pasterze glacier:

And the cutest little - actually they were huge and fat - marmots:

We were told not to feed them but they seemed quite happy eating the thistles anyway. I wanted to bring one home but I don't think it would've got along with Casper.

Thursday was a bit rainy so we lazed around but Friday we went to the Krimml Waterfalls, which were spectacular:

I was really glad I'd bought a waterproof, because the spray from the falls was incredible.

Later on the sun came out and we actually got to see a few rainbows in the spray. I can see why they're called the most beautiful falls in Europe; they were stunning;

We had lunch on a giant rock above the second 'step' of the falls. You can see the third and top 'step' in the distance (we didn't make it that far) and the mother on the rock to the left of the pic;

I took a *lot* more pictures but I don't want to overload computers and most of them aren't that interesting anyway. The flight home Saturday I'd run out of room on the camera so I couldn't take any more pictures but we flew over Switzerland and France and had no cloud almost the entire way, so I wish I'd had enough room to take some more. It was fun though.

End of pic spam. Back to slash now. :-)

Juts a hint, it might have something to do with all that slurping coffee. But then again, maybe it's just me.
