BEHOLD THE POWAH OF INTERNET CAFES!
Sep. 12th, 2004 02:12 pmGuten tag from Austria! The keyboard is trying to kill me but other than that it's cheap, handy - sort of - and has an English keyboard. And they're even playing Dido as background music. So cool.
So! What am I up too... well, in fine Welsh-traveller tradition, we got here just as the weather broke... and were welcomed with rain. Typical eh? But Kitzbuhel is *very* pretty (oh-so-quaint, cobbled streets and painted houses with flowers and everything) and we've booked several trips for later in the week, including going to see Grussglockner ('scuse spelling) the highest mountain in Austria and the glacier next to it which we actually get to walk on. :-D Plus the rep is looking into horse riding for me, so hopefully that's going to happen at some point during the week. Mwahaha! Austria is excellent. All the mountains are misty today which is extremely pretty. So maybe rain is good for some things after all.
In other news, we're spending far too much money. >_< Ooops.
And... we have Eurosport on the TV in our room, so I get to see the tennis. MWAHAHAHA! Watched the Henman vs Federer match last night and it was a bizarre experience willing Roger to lose for once. Didn't work; Henman was his usual inconsistent self. *sigh* Should get to see the final tonight. Almost made the horrendous 25 euros for the remote control worth it.
I think the receptionist of our hotel thinks we're morons. We keep having to ask her all this random stuff and I get the distinct feeling she doesn't like us. There are two guys who're there some of the time though, so walking through reception isn't quite a sprint-through-without-looking-at-reception deal just yet. We have only been here a day though.
Off to catch up on the f-list before I run out of money. Aufwiedersehn for now (thanks Shana! ^___^)

Date: 2004-09-13 03:53 am (UTC)I got a 'C' in A-level German, so if you need any choice phrases, you know who to call.
"Ich habe eine Meerschweinchen in meiner Hose" = "I have a guinea pig down my trousers"
