Wow. There is hope for the world.
Aug. 12th, 2004 07:41 pmIt *is* possible to have a conversation about politics without it degenerating into name-calling and swearing. Well, I think it is. Managed it so far.
Not that I really *know* all that much about politics but still...
I need to find an outfit to wear for Saturday night. -_- Hopefully it'll be cool enough to wear some long sleeved tops since after this summer I an unspeakably sick of sleeveless ones.
And now I'm discussing clothes in my LJ. Shoot me.
A week today I'll know exactly what I'm doing and where I'll be for the next year. Have decided worrying will do nothing except get me stressed so have adopted calm-and-uncaring approach to the entire thing. I have a very simple set of options really: (1) I get grades and go to Lancaster or (2) I don't get the grades and resit my exams in college. End of story. I don't think I'm a getting-stressed person this summer. o_O Exams were more than averagely stressful but for the most part I've just smiled and nodded and let myself be told to do stuff. I'd have committed mass murder by now if this was last summer.
Maybe I'm hoarding my anger. Perhaps I'll spontaeneously combust at the end of the summer. Could be entertaining. Hhhmm.
Since tonight is going to be my final stay-up-late-and-get-stuff-done night until Monday night - and then I'll have been working, so tiredness, so less chance of staying awake that long - I'm planning on hitting the fic later on and - hopefully - getting a chunk of it done. All the tennis matches sitting recorded on my Sky+ box really need to get deleted. Parents are getting twitchy. ;-) So yes, fic night tonight. I also need to work on PH, but I doubt I'll have time. That may have to wait until next week at this rate. Plus Myth, and The Iliad is still mocking my pathetic attempts to finish it... I wonder if I could go AWOL next week. *dreamy smile* Catch a bus, take the laptop and vanish into some log cabin in Scotland for an entire week. No words for how much that sounds like heaven right now.
*wanders off dreamily*
