Something like two and a half hours later, my "quick" header change is done to the point where I at least don't dislike so much that I'll want to change it tomorrow, even if the Photoshopping is spectacularly lazy. I couldn't find anything to change it to for ages, other than knowing I wanted something new; went with Andrew-Lee Potts on, well, a whim. And because I really enjoyed him in SyFy's Alice last week and he's got a pretty face on him, which is always fun to look at everytime I load LJ.

Also, did I mention he was excellent in Alice? The plot was definitely sketchy at times - lots of times -but he and Caterina Scorsone (Alice) made it work. Some (not all but definitely some) of the CGI was pretty nifty too. Worth a watch! I'm side-eyeing the DVD on Amazon right now.

So, as you can see one is not yet dead*, despite my complete lack of LJing lately. I keep thinking of things to post about like new Who and my kindoftrouble-inspired reaching-ridiculous-levels-now Psych obsession (yes, James Roday was totally a candidate for the header but I couldn't find pictures I liked and was too lazy to screencap) or the fact that my work contract has now been extended until the end of May (hurrah!)...only I mention them on Twitter and then forget. Twitter has done more to kill my LJ posting mojo than anything else and I apologise.

Not that I say anything really interesting on Twitter either! It's mostly cooing over whichever Psych ep I've been watching (recently) or talking about tennis (though not right now because it's clay season & I don't care) or LOLing at the royal wedding snark (yesterday). Stuff that's worth 140 characters but not an LJ post. Before Twitter, I probably would've made the LJ post regardless but now it all gets splurged over there and it may save LJ from my ramblings, but it stops me posting anything here either. Hhhmm. Maybe I should work on that.


Er. Anyway. I'm trying to get working on fic again after a whole month where I just haven't wanted to pick up a pen at all, and I owe jesse_kips many, many words by tomorrow which will get done and maybe at some point I can get some minificlets posted here. Maybe. There's handwritten scribbles everywhere but I'm still mid-writing-funk and can't decide if they're worth typing up.

...So that's pretty much what I've been doing since my last too-long-ago post? At least this one has writing instead of just pictures. I am around LJ still though; I read my flist every day and all my new fic recs still get added to my memories. So you know. I just need to work on the saying stuff regularly part. Which I will! And will say something interesting! Er. Or at least try (no promises). ^_^

I've watched seasons 2 & 3 in the space of about three weeks. And I'd be watching 4 right now if kindoftrouble lived close enough for me to walk there to borrow her DVDs. IT IS SO RIDICULOUSLY ADDICTIVE.

So am I! (mostly because I still only have a vague idea what actually happens and I'm waiting for Arthur to surprise me with his snark). I'm working up to it with lots of tea (if I'm too caffeinated to sleep, I may as well write. ;-) )

ME TOO, OH MY GOD. THE END OF S3! I get all flaily and Conflicted just remembering it (I have spoiled myself with Wikipedia but that doesn't compare to actually watching it)! I also pre-ordered season 5 from amazon.com because I couldn't wait. WHY. WHY SO IRRESISTIBLE, SHOW?

edit: Also, you have Sky right? Did you know that the Universal channel are showing season 4 of Psych at 7pm on Sundays right now? They're already up to episode 11 or 12 I think, but it's not like you really have to watch this show in order. ^_^ And they might marathon the whole season when they get to the end. *wishful thinking*

And we actually have Virgin, so I might have to search out the Universal channel. Because we have been buying the UK DVDs, we can't get series 4 until JULY, according to Amazon.co.uk! Don't know what I am going to do!

I have typed up 300+ words, which is pitiful considering how long I've been trying at it but that's less than one of my handwritten page, so hopefully I can have at least 1000 words easy in the morning*. I think it's time I went back to Write or Die just to get some words down.

You can refuse it! It doesn't make it less true. ;-) (I'm so glad I didn't have the internet back when I wrote my first fanfiction. Most. Embarrassing. Thing. Ever.)

I KNOW, JULY WTF. I thought maybe they were waiting until all of S4 had shown on TV over here but if Universal is up to ep 12 already, they'll be done waaaaaaaay before July. It is illogical! (I am planning to borrow kindoftrouble's American copy of S4 when I see her next weekend. If you can't wait and you're free at any point between May 12th and June 2nd (when I go to London for Wimbledon), you're welcome to come for a Psych marathon!)


*eta: That was optimistic; I'm on 413 and have to go to work. >_< ARGH.

Well, as long as you have the handwritten pages, then you have hit the wordcount! You just need to transcribe them, which is the easy part! Just get it all typed up so I can read it - I look forward to seeing your novel file in bold on googledocs :D

And really don't worry about the quality - mine is ridiculously first draft, since I type it right into googledocs! So, I might win the rubbish-off? (omg, I remember some of my handwritten fanfiction- thank god it stayed offline and will never see the light of day!)

July is too far away! This always happens though- The American Office is on series 7 in America, and you can only just buy series 5. We need to catch up with America! And I may have to take you up on a Psych marathon!
