International Christmas cards sent. I might've missed the last posting date for Australia, I'm not sure, but they've got like two weeks, so hopefully they'll get there. People in the UK, yours'll be sent sometime this week. Probably. I've at least left myself a little leeway to procrastinate this year.

The lady in the post office who stuck all the stamps on was vaguely crazy and told me all about her mother-in-law moving to America (yay! apparently) and was telling me all about how she never sent anything in the post since they found her christmas presents one year "exploded over the back of a van". This was reassuring to hear while sending my Christmas post. Regardless, [livejournal.com profile] scoobydumblonde your box is being sent tomorrow when I've wrapped it, and I'll pay to track it this time so it will get there. Even if it gets there in pieces that've exploded in the back of a van.

[livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble yours is travelling down with me by train at New year, because by then I shall be bankrupt from the crazy postage. Seriously, maybe it's just because I send a lot of stuff at once at Christmas, but it really seems like they hike the prices up specially. Damn them.

And then Vaguely Crazy Lady told me that with the post office providing the phone line, there're free calls all weekend to America and Australia. Even to mobiles. I feel this may merit a mention to the parentals when we move. Aussies and Americans, be afraid. Be very afraid. Mwahahaha!

...Sorry. I just felt like that sentence needed a dose of evil cackling to really be complete.

I'm so bored of work today. Bah. Maybe I'll go make some coffee.

...I just typed 'crematorium' as 'creamatorium'. Um. Yes. I should definitely put the keyboard down and go in search of caffeine.

The family have only ever had postal problems once, and that was many years ago, trying to send something to Vienna. We've never had problems shipping to the US.

*mourns for lost birthday package* But Yay! Christmas.

I sadly still have your birthday stuff sitting in my room. *hangs head in shame* It'll get sent... eventually. I'm so bad. It'll have christmas stuff too though... although you probably won't get it until after the new year and wait a second you're going to Australia when again??? Oh crap. when's the move to Lake District?? Oh noes. Brain hurting.....

I've sent stuff everywhere and it's always got there, as far as I know, but of course they chose the biggest thing with the most expensive postage to lose. -_- And then they don't let you claim back the postage unless it was tracked, so there was no point trying to get any money back. Bah. Still, just the one thing lost out of all the crap I've sent over the years isn't a bad track record I guess.

I franked it first class and it still only got there today?! Dude, I am so never sending anything by franked mail ever. It is all sorts of awesome though isn't it? :DD I got way too excited about it in Woolies. ^_^

It makes it more fun after Christmas anyway. Like, Christmas lasts two weeks or so. :) Which it should.

I'm still mad that it never turned up, and that they wouldn't let me claim the money back because it wasn't sent tracked. At least this one should either get there, or I can claim the money back and keep rebuying/resending until it damn well gets there, if it comes to that. I hope this one gets there though. It'd be sad to lose another pretty box. :(

Don't worry! I'm only organised this year because I get to sit in work and write all my christmas cards/letters. I'm not going to Australia until March (in theory; see Christmas letter when it gets there) but we're moving to the Lake District in January sometime. I should know our new address by the end of the week and we'll have the keys from the beginning of January, so you might as well hang on and send it there to be sure. :) It'll be like new!house mail.

Okay. I'll wait until you've got your new address before I send it. :-D
