clo_againI just turned on the Dave marathon of Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Jonas Armstrong is on one. I'm- thrown. And a little disappointed that I only caught the last two minutes because there wwere enough Robin Hood jokes in those two minutes to make it hilarious. ("From the Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves film. With the irreplacable Kevin Costner!" Jonas: "...") But hooray for Dave! It's repeated at 2:15am. Which I will definitely be awake for, seen as how I've spent the entire day sitting on the sofa in my pyjamas, cursing the unfairness of being a girl and digging stray Neurofen from every corner of my room, until I finally quit at 7pm and went for a nap. For half an hour. Somehow my brain equates that with 'until 12:30am' and now I'm too awake.
I at least used the day of bumming around to catch up on Merlin, which turned out better than the first episode suggested (I resisted even considering slashing Merlin/Arthur until the dragon said something like "You cannot refuse your heart" and started talking about how they completed each other, at which point I decided resisting anymore would just give me brain-ache and that the BBC is now Owned By Slashers). I also finished the Forest Temple on Zelda and got out into Hyrule Field, which is so totally not like Occarina that I feel a bit lost and homesick for my blocky unrealistic trees and rocks. Epona moving almost like an actual horse gets a great big yay though and aside from my "...but it's not Occarina! issues, I love it. The whole wolf thing is fantastic, although I have my fingers crossed for getting to chomp on Midna at some point. And I thought Navi was irritating. Wow.
(Jonas Armstrong just said 'wanking'. In relation to peanut butter. So much for avoiding brain-ache. o_O)
Today's uselessness was compensated for by yesterday being the first day in ages that I've actually enjoyed being in work. I had more than one conversation all day, we found a wedding dress in a box (seriously), Seriously Annoying Workmite actually sat at my desk and phoned someone that I was supposed to, while I stood next to her repeating in an increasingly loud voice "I WILL DO IT; THEY NEED TO TALK TO ME BECAUSE I SIGNED FOR IT. GO BACK TO YOUR DESK, PLEASE. IT'S MY JOB".
While incredibly annoying, this was actually a Good Thing because although she's done stuff like this before this was the first time both my boss and another workmite (along with the receptionist for the whole bulding so no doubt the entire building will've heard about it by Monday) saw her blank me totally while I tried to stop her getting in the way of my job. She does this, ignore you if what you're saying isn't something she wants to hear and she prefers to do my job even though she's crap at it because it stops her having to do her job or rather, pretend to do her job while avoiding actually doing it.
Although on this occasion it would've been nice for my boss to show some backbone and come over to tell her to stop getting in the way, rather than just sympathising afterward because while she's happy to ignore me when it suits her, I can't imagine even she's quite stupid enough to ignore our boss. I haven't quite worked out if she does it deliberately because it suits her or if she's actually just too stupid for the words to register; the only thing I could've done yesterday was physically reach across and take the phone from her which is just, crossing some line that I'm not comfortable with. Especially since I suspect she's the kind of person to hang on until it turned into a tug of war and really, I should not be having to tug of war over something as ridiculous as calling a courier company.
(I also hate her using my phone because her personal hygiene is questionable and I'm going through disinfectant wipes like a kid through candy. I'm bad enough with the freaking over germs and everything being clean normally, never mind when it's someone who actually physically repulses not just me, but the entire office. She's going to be using my desk for two weeks while I'm on holiday. There is not enough disinfectant in the world.)
I've already chosen my retaliation though. She wants to be the one 'in' on everything, doing everything, answering all my questions even when they aren't addressed to her? Well I've had enough after six months of this and she's not the only one who can blank. A subtle and yet entirely effective 'fuck you' blanking, which I suspect will be endorsed by the rest of the office, has already begun.

kindoftrouble at New Year too. I didn't ask if it was full pay but she didn't say otherwise so I assume it would be... All in all, it just means that I'll get £400 more than I was accounting for and I can stop worrying about money so much now. Also, I can definitely buy that pretty Animal hoodie I'd mournfully written off. *happiness* And a new mobile phone! Finally! I might do that tomorrow. You know, five years later I'm suddenly impatient to get a new phone. Heh.

But in News of Woe, my new laptop isn't here yet. I'm starting to wonder if it'll even make it here for NaNoWriMo. Dell, you are officially Spawn of Evil. -_- I don't care if it's purple and lovely, it should not take this long.
