I NOW OWN ALL OF FARSCAPE. HAVE WAITED YEARS FOR THIS MOMENT. YAYAYAYAYAY!
This makes up for having to work two hours overtime until 7:30pm, when I'm in work for 8am tomorrow. A whole shiny twelve hours at home before I have to be back in work. Kinda wondering why I didn't just sleep on the staff room floor. More annoying was Incompetent Deputy Manager faffing around painting the window display all morning while I was insanely busy by myself on the till, faffing around wrapping stuff for the kids party on Saturday in the middle of the day, wandering out at 4pm to "do some shopping for the kids party" and wandering back about half five with bags full of her own shopping, then wandering off home again after asking me to do the overtime. When everyone else had been running around like headless chickens all day, trying to get everything done. God forbid she actually do any work (she did the same yesterday apparently. She always seems to when the manager isn't in.) And the latest Amy's heard on the time-and-a-half pay for Boxing Day is that "permanent staff get it, temps might not."
The lesson I am learning here is that retail is a bitch to work in when you're a temp and/or you have superiors who do everything possible to avoid work.
Okay, whine over, because I have *all of Farscape*. That week off in January will be fun. :D Also, the second series of Battlestar should be here tomorrow, hopefully, and my Christmas shopping is on schedule, if not ahead, and next week is much better than this one because I'm off every two days. Oh and I might get paid two weeks worth of wages tomorrow. Might just get paid, even.
That said, I'm still looking forward to January. I couldn't do a job like this for long; I'd go insane, what with neurotic deputy-managers and having all these extra ten minutes here and there that we don't get paid for and unexpected overtime... Maybe it's just because we're temps but it's still nuts. (Also: I'm sorry that all I post about is my job these days. It's all I seem to be doing right now.)
But. Faaaaaarrrscaaaappee. I can't stop staring at it. It's finally here, two weeks and about six years after I first wanted it. Weird feeling.
