Oct. 29th, 2007 11:03 pmSo when we were out shopping today (I bought a backpack that I needed to go to London and three tops that I didn't but were pretty and cheap) the father called to say Waterstones had left a message and wanted me to go for an interview this Thursday. At 11:30am, when I'm going into the job centre at 10:30am to sort out what's going on with me going to London and how in the job centre's view, how it makes me A Bad Person. So if the filling out of forms and arguing with the bureaucracy takes too long, I guess I'll just have to tell them that I *have a job interview* and since they're a *job centre*, they can't exactly complain.
I do kinda have the feeling that, if Waterstones offer me the Christmas job, they might want me to cut short the London trip. Which will suck, considering it's effectively my 'summer' holiday for this entire year, pretty much. Overnight in Ireland doesn't really count. The father (before we got into our traditional evening argument and I stopped talking to him) pointed out they have to offer me the job first, so. Stop thinking about it until it happens.
I should probably start reading something, so when they ask - because they're a bookshop - what, I have something interesting to talk about. Mmm. I did just get Steph Swainston's No Present Like Time the other day and that's interesting. Or I could finally finish Vellum - though I read the first half months ago and can't remember what the hell way going on.
It is somewhat typical of my life that I get offered an interview for a job I'd like to do just before I go to London for a week. All summer, nada, then right now-
Sigh.
You get zoo pictures when I'm awake enough to upload them. Which will be tomorrow by now.
