George, our most esteemed and awesome writing tutor, is trying to get a group of us writing students together to go to the Phoenix Convention in Dublin. I've said I'm interested and I am, but none of the names are really jumping out at me and I'm a total con newbie so... any regulars want to give an opinion on whether it looks to be worth it or not? Because the flight isn't expensive but two nights in a hotel added onto it and it starts to mount up, so I want to be *really sure* it's worth it before giving a firm yes.
Also, I don't know who's going from my course yet and don't want to get stuck in Dublin on my own for a weekend (not to mention splitting a hotel room? *Much* better moneywise.) Must remember to ask around in tomorrow's seminar. Or, if anyone happens to be in the country and free and wants to go, I can ask George if it'd be okay to tag along. ;-)
The list of proposed talks looks fantastic, though they won't all run but there is a proposed LJ meetup and *yes*, I will so be there (if I go that is. Um.)
edit: This song is incredibly beautiful: Possession by Sarah McLachlan. And it's been sitting on my computer for months unheard. Sigh.
