clo_againSo, Adrian Lester isn't coming back to the fourth series of Hustle. I heard a rumour, then when I heard the fourth series started in spring I dismissed it. Because there can't be Hustle without Mickey. It's-- it's like Red Dwarf without Rimmer. Stargate without Jack. Buffy without Giles--
-- no, wait. Hang on. All that happened and oh, let me see, were the shows as good? Simple -- subjective but simple -- answer, no.
And I don't even particularly like Mickey. Hell, he's very pretty and he's grown on me having seen the first series now but, even with my take-him-or-leave-him feelings, he's integral to the show regardless of whether you lean toward Danny or toward him. One of those things, like apples and oranges. It just *is*.
Not to mention I was enjoying the new slashy side of Mickey/Danny that's eluded me for the last two years. *wistful* Just when I find a good thing, it's gone.
edit: Have you ever idly started a reading a fic from a chapter somewhere in the middle without expecting it to be anything other than an average fic, only to get more and more confused until it abruptly dawns on you that they're all vampires?
Well. Maybe not. But. *Vampires*. I totally did not see that coming. *amused*
edit: Oh, ouch. I think I just discovered a new pet peeve because honestly, wank is a word that should never be used in a serious context. At least, not if any other word under the *sun* is available to use instead.
