For all my fellow Dwarfers...
Mar. 29th, 2003 10:34 amCourtesey of the ever-wonderful SFX:
"After much ado, many false starts, optomistic announcements and financial wranglings, the Red Dwarf movie is finally going to be made. Probably.
SFX dropped producer Charles Armitage, of Noel Grey Films, a line to see what the current state of play is. 'Just doing budget and location work,' he replied. 'Subject to that and and main cast availablity, it looks like a summer shoot.'"
RED DWARF IS NOT DEAD YET! OH NO!
The brief article doesn't finish on a very positive note, mentioning that the film may go stright to video, but it also admits this is just a rumour so there's no facts backing that up. I can't see *why* they'd make it straight to video - they'd make more money in the cinema.
So there is yet hope, although if it's a summer shoot the film probably won't appear till late 2004, early 2005. Still, Red Dwarf is worth the wait!
If none of you buy SFX and they sell it near you (I think it's a British thing, sorry) then it's definitely worth it for all Sci-Fi, Fantasy or just movie fans out there. Interview with James Marsters (again!) this month with BBIIGG pictures. *drools* Plus X-Men 2 and all that. Very fun. I swear I'm not being paid to say this. ^_~
