Who wants to bet that Roger felt sorry for Guille, realised this match doesn't matter, and promptly decided to lose the second set as badly as possible in order to give the crowd a better match? I've never seen Roger play quite so many bad points in a row and yet, somehow, he doesn't seem to be getting annoyed at himself. In fact I caught a little quirk at one point that looked kinda like he was trying not to smile as he looked at his racquet. My commentators agree; they keep repeating the words 'manufactured himself a target', though they're a little dubious about him doing it all on purpose. (I've also never heard them say 'bizarre' as often as they have in the last half an hour.)

For me, Roger winning that one game on his last serve proved it. Commentators just said that he'd never been bagelled and what does he do? Win *one* game. How... convenient. ;)

If he loses, then I might change my mind. If he comes back to miraculously win this at the last possible second?

Well. How... convenient that would be. ;-)

If he is doing this for Guille and to make it a better match, he's even more of a sweetheart than I thought. :)

edit: It's amazing. When he's good, he's very very good. When he's being bad, he's *still* good at it. Even though to me it looked obvious that he was blatently losing on purpose, the commentators are still skating around actually *saying* it. And now he's going to sail through and win and no one will ever sit him down and actually ask flat out "Did you lose that second set on purpose?" Because he managed to make playing badly look natural.

I love this match. ^__^

Right, I don't have telecast for another 3 hours, but watching Livescores it kinda seems like Rogi was doing it on purpose! Awww! *hugs him* Not enough to risk his consecutive wins record though! :D

Replying to myself - sad much?? :)

Inside my head, Andy bet Roger that he wouldn't lose a set, and if he didn't do it, Andy would withhold sex :)

I do it to. ;-) Damn not being able to edit LJ comments.

*dies* That's it!! It was all in aid of sex! I knew Roger had a good reason. :D

*nods* the things he'll do for sex! ;)

Of course, if he lost the match overall, Andy said he had to play his next match dressed in a full body fluffy rabbit costume! *grins*

Tut tut, these sex-mad tennis players. ;) I always knew Roger isn't as innocent as he looks.

Which is why he absolutely had to win, just to not give Andy the chance to point and laugh. ;) Though now I'm a little disappointed he won; I'd give anything to see Roger play a match in a rabbit costume. ^__^

Ahhhh Andy would point and laugh, but I bet he'd be just kinky enough to make Roger wear it home afterwards! ;) It'd be fun watching him try to find the zipper get Rogi out of it!

I have a foto of Michael Schumacher wearing a ridiculous bunny outfit, will have to Photoshop Roger into it! (after exams...)

*dies again* You're giving me plot bunnies... I can't believe I just said that. *groan*

You do?! And I thought tennis players could be crazy. There should be more bunny outfits in sport, just to stop them all taking it so seriously. ^__^ (Exams are evil. -_-)

Best match ever. Totally. It was just fantastic to watch. Except I kept shouting at Roger because for a while I was worried he would lose.

I also think he was doing it on purpose, because he could totally play well when he needed too. He's such a cutie.

If you don't see it, I'll put it on a DVD and send it to you. I want second opinions on whether or not Roger was doing it on purpose. :) I think they should show it though, just because it was so bizarre. I've never seen Roger play a match quite that... weirdly.

Wasn't it great? I laughed all the way through. :D I started to get worried that Roger would lose towards the end of the second set but then he won that *one* game to stop himself getting bagelled and I knew he wouldn't let himself lose. It was an insane match but it was fun.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Weren't some of the shots he was hitting on big points just awesome? And yet when losing the point worked for Guille, he'd hit an absolutely appalling shot; some of them he *had* to have hit on purpose. I love that he didn't just flatten Guille 6-0, 6-0. He just got even more adorable. :)

I loved it, it was just so much fun to watch and you couldn't help but laugh at some of it, it was bizarre. That one game definitely settled my nerves. I don't think he would have let himself lose, he probably would have hated himself forever for that. Though until that one game in the third set when Guille just played *horribly* I was still worried, but then he started double faulting again and I was less worried. Definitely fun, insane, but fun. They're always the best ones.

Some of his shots were just completely awesome, he was Roger at his best, and then some of his errors were totally out of nowhere and so un-Roger like they can't have all been accidently. He had some huge unforced error count too, which just isn't him. He had to have been doing it on purpose, otherwise it makes no sense, unless he just got bored of playing when he was winning that easily. I prefer to go for the 'on purpose' option, because it makes him cuter. Which was very hard, because Roger was already totally adorable.

It was a great match. My favourite so far. :D I loved how in the first set, when he was up 40-0 on Coria's serve, he'd smack the ball into the net just to give him that one point so it wouldn't look so bad. <3 You don't find boys like these anywhere else.
