In other news, I am around. I'm just trying to accomplish things before I settle down to comments and fic reviewing and such. Working on getting the first half-ish of Halo up on clofic in the next few hours, and then a ficlet, and then maybe the rest of Halo later tonight or tomorrow.
We actually have this poster at work. It may be possible for me to obtain it after the movie is finished its run. *ponders* Unless there's like a mob that all want the same poster, which is likely to happen for Harry Potter and the like.
I walk by it every day and go "hmm, maybe I should see that movie. I wonder what it's about? And every once in a while I stop and watch the promo for it that we play on loop with other promos.
We shall see. I have to talk to ... well someone at work. I shall not name names that will only confuse you.
Clo! I am back from my trip and boo, Halo is still not up! I am waiting for the first part at least. Be happy that I have lots of fic to read and stuff so that I don't have time to torture you by tickling till you post Halo.
*Sits with a bag of popcorn and mouse in the refresh button*
Everyone should see that movie. It's going to be awesome and mindblowing and things that they haven't even invented words for yet. However, I cannot recommend enough that you watch the series before the movie. There's only the fourteen episodes that got made before the Morons in Suits at Fox cancelled it, but it's snarky and it's fascinating... every episode is a thing of beauty. (Not to mention the entire cast is gorgeous. ;-) )
Ngggghhhhh! *grovels at your feet* I shrieked when I saw that poster. Waking up to it every day would be unbelievable.
Working on it. :) It's all done, editing is just taking a little longer than I thought. I'm working on getting it up right now, so it shouldn't be long, even with all the insane italics some part of my mind decided I needed to use.
*steals some popcorn and goes back to working on it*
*pets* It's okay, it's the thought that counts. :) And I've stopped paying attention to the tennis, except for whenRoger comes up against someone interesting. I can't stand watching all our boys lose anymore.
I swear, I nearly asphixated when you said that. I keep forgetting even I probably wouldn't have seen Firefly without my brother pointing it out to me. *headdesk*
River is a character from Joss Whedon's ill-fated TV series, Firefly. Think cowboys in space - it's filled with the beautiful Whedon snark, the scripts are fantastic and there was so much potential. Unfortuntately, the Suits at Fox didn't agree - they showed the episodes in the wrong order, they messed the times around, they really gave up on it without giving it a chance - and they cancelled it after fourteen episodes. The huge uprising of fan support however, helped Joss get to make a movie, covering some of the things he wanted to cover in the show. I cannot recommend Firefly *enough*. It's the best TV I've seen, possibly ever.
River is... well, I can't say much without giving serious plot away. :) She's the little sister of Simon Tam, a formerly rich, genius doctor who comes aboard the ship Serenity, which the series and movie revolves around. The government effectively kidnapped her and did some seriously nasty stuff to her because she was even smarter than her brother, though the purpose behind the experiments isn't fully revealed in the series. She's *awesome*. :) More than a little crazy, but awesome.
I still like the original promo poster better, but that's because I'm a fangirl. I understand that they needed a more traditional poster to sell it better.
If you can see the series before the movie, I really recommend watching them in that order. From what I've heard from people who've seen the movie, while the movie's understandable without the series, knowing the background makes it much better.
Plus the series was amazing and I like to convert as many people to the Firefly-love asI can. ^__^
*glomps the prettiness* Oh, my! I've never seen River so grown up! Then again, I haven't really seen much of River. I've only watched four episodes on the DVD so far. I bought the DVD set because I heard about the movie, and I wanted to see the movie, and I figure it's best to watch the series before the movie, and yes, I need to watch the series now.
I absolutely adore Simon. And Kaylee is just too cute for words!
