*ponders tennis news*
Aug. 9th, 2005 06:12 pmSaw Hewitt playing earlier. Had to stop and look again. Because damn Hewitt, whatever look you were going for? You missed. What's with the *hair*?
And then I heard he'd dropped out with a stomach upset and felt bad for mocking him. Even with an outfit like that, it sucks to fly all the way from Australia to Canada then have to drop out in first round. Can't say I'm too upset though - I do want Andy to win this and with Lleyton out the way, that suddenly gets a whole lot more likely.
More worryingly however, the commentatory-type guys were discussing the tour generally, and said, and I quote: "Rumours have been circulating around the tour that the knee operation that [Marat Safin] has had, or possible hasn't had, has been botched." Which is *not* what I wanted to hear. I thought it had gone fine and he was getting better? -_- Rot and rumour...
I also don't get Andy's match, except for highlights tomorrow, for which someone is going to die a ritualistic death of tennis-deprivation-wrath. I'm just taping Carlos vs Rafa but dammit, I would've rather had Andy's match live. Am planning on looking out for
liroa15 and
shana0809 in the crowd though. *sighs* I am so jealous but I hope they're having fun.
And this post was extremely boring for those of you who don't follow tennis, so my un-tennis related news which I meant to say a few weeks back, is that they're making a sequel to Dark Crystal. And, even better, they're still using puppets and not CGI. :D After watching Matrix Revolutions the other night, I suddenly appreciate actual, tangibly *real* sets and actors so much more. CGI can be very pretty but it gets so irritating when it's overused.
Okay, off to watch Carlos/Rafa. Will yell if I spot
liroa15 and
shana0809. :)
