Wimbledon starts tomorrow!!! :-D And the BBC have lots of helpful guides for people planning to go down and queue outside which I am dutifully printing out because in four and a half days WE'LL BE THERE OMG.

I also just made the weirdest squeaking noise when I read this:

"Question: In talking to some of the people camped out waiting for tickets and hanging out, they said that a few years ago you came over to try to get a feel for the atmosphere, and that you actually got in someone's tent. Do you remember that?

Roddick: Yeah. I think it was at night when people were queuing. I just kind of wanted to do the whole atmosphere of it. They were a lot more intoxicated than I expected. I guess that made it easier to fit in. But I think, you know, I always try to experience something of a tournament. That was my first year, and I could go somewhat unrecognized, you know, by the random person. People had their little barbecues. It was cool. It was a good experience.
"

I just had this image of Andy Roddick walking past me and R in the queue and both of us passing out from shock. *thinks* Or possibly rugby-tackling him with incoherent screams, so if he wants to be injury-free for his final with Roger *touch wood* then he probably shouldn't walk past us. I'm worried enough that we're going to throw ourselves on-court and attach ourselves to his - or Roger's, or Safin's or Rafa's - knees.

It could be a new kind of handicap match, "Play with an adoring fangirl attached to each knee." Hell, I'd go for it.

But yes. I'm a little too excited about this, considering we don't even know what kind of tickets we're going to get and BBC is cautiously advising everyone that queuing up overnight rarely = Centre Court tickets. Which is 'grate woe!' but just means we should go earlier the night before to start queuing I guess.

I need to work out LJ's phone post service to keep you all updated hourly. I can just see it now:

11:03pm - Friday

Centre Court tickets bought: 0
Tennis players assaulted: 0
Bruises on my ass from sitting on the pavement: 6
Friendly people next to us getting drunk: 21

Not surprisingly, starting to rain. Little kid next to us had a Snoopy umbrella; have comandeered it for the greater good, ie. keeping me and R dry. Think there are squirrels in the trees overhead because they keep dropping acorns on us. Stupid squirrels.

Still not king at Wimbledon.

And so on, and so on...

Oh boy. This is gonna be crazy. *dances some more*

EDIT: And what is it with Andy and not shaving while he's in the UK? We do sell razors here too Andy! Though I must admit, his fuzz is kinda cute. Maybe it's a rebellion against British tennis rules; he can't wear crazy colours, so he rebels by growing his beard instead. *ponders*
