Mister Lister SIR!
Jan. 2nd, 2003 08:49 pmAs you may be able to tell I was watching Series 1 of Red Dwarf on DVD earlier and I've always loved this quote. I just love Lister *huggles Lister*. Even though he's a massive slob, or maybe because he is a massive slob. But what struck me while I was watching about the fourth episode was that "This isn't *slashy* to me." Damn, it should be slashy, three guys (admittedly one's a hologram and one's an evolved Cat but when did that ever stop slashers?) stuck on a huge spaceship, with no female lifeforms within several thousand/million/billion light years and yet I see no slash. I think it's because my muses have rebelled - they have to have *one* unslashy show. It's kinda nice to have just one show where I can relax and not squeak over every meaningful look. Slash is fun but exhausting. So I made a nice fun icon, which could also be considered slashy if you really read to deep into it but nevermind. I love Lister and that's the way it's staying.
Had a massive tidying spree in my room earlier and it's still not completely finished -_- I'd forgotten how knackering it is to have a huge tidy-up. But the good thing is I've finally cleared out the rop cupboard, moved the stuff from the bottom of my warderobe up there and now can actually find stuff in my warderobe. My brother moaned becasue I dumped all his ancient 'Battle Masters' board games and stuff in his room but he hasn't played with them for like 12 years so why doesn't he either sell them or throw them away? I try not to hoard too much stuff like that. Although I hoard the occasional things. I realised while tidying just HOW much fanfiction I've got in folders - either stuff I've written or stuff I've printed out. I must have about ten folders of varying sizes filled with mixtures of print-outs and handwritten fiction and notes. Now that's what I hoard - thankfully a fic takes up less room than a board game. Usually. And I dropped one of my little horse models while moving stuff up to the top cupboard. :( I stopped collecting them about five years ago and wrapped them in tissue paper to store in the cupboard but I accidently dropped my favourite one and he now has one remaining leg attached while the other three are in various pieces. *sighs* Of all the things I could have dropped......
Actually speaking of horses, I just downloaded a background for Brego from the Lord of the Rings site and he has a Western saddle. (For non-horsey people Western saddles are more usual in the US than Britain and are generally more comfortable for long distance riding) It doesn't matter and it was probably more comfortable for the actors, but it just confused me. Would they use that type of saddle in Middle-Earth? I'm not sure why I'm even bothering with this but it's one of those little things that get stuck in the back of my mind and niggle away for absolutely no reason. Most odd.
Anyway I'm off to play around with Photoshop now. I never get tired of this program.
