I was awake earlier, thinking "Yay I'm awake enough to fic tonight!" Then I ate dinner and suddenly feel like I haven't slept in a month. *yawns* Ggrrr. Maybe I'll wake up again in an hour or so.

Today has been, as the days after Christmas inevitably are, dull. Actually I slept through half of it, so that part was good, but the rest of it... dull and have accomplished nothing and am starting to worry about my plans to write this English essay before New Year. But I will do it! Tomorrow I'll sit down and work my way through the research and books and stuff. I will. Really.

Sims 2? Still the. Best. Game. Evah! :D

I've almost finished my general icon update. I'm pretty happy with most of them, though for how long... it does mean I can start making more icons for other people now though. And those calendar pics I owe [livejournal.com profile] liroa15 which are I think half done... *contemplates*

All our snow is gone. Woe.

I think I'm bored. I'm doing the pointless rambling thing so I must be. *yawns again* Bored, sleepy, bored...

Clo

*looks shifty* I didn't give him eyeliner in Photoshop. Honest. *cough* ;)

It was so tempting and I just couldn't resist...

I actually thought it was part of the picture, but I deducted that you're mischeivous to add it anyway...;)

Diana Wynne Jones?! Go out and find her definitely, you're missing out on some great books. :) The Dark Lord of Derkholm is a good place to start, or if you're in the mood to be confused go for the very excellent but oh-so-confusing Fire and Hemlock. She's brilliant. Much crazier than Tamora Pierce but equally as good and she's written loads of books which is even better. :D

The others... I strongly recommend Blue Moon Rising by Simon. R. Green. Fantasy that's funny and dark and amazing all at once. Beware of Robin Hobb; you start on one trilogy then before you know it you own all three and you're getting a little too obsessed. Jasper Fforde... Jasper Fforde is a genius but I'm not sure if he's too British-fied to be as funny anywhere else. Give him a go. Anyone who writes about dodos that say plock has my vote. :) Plus I've met the guy and he's fantastic, so it'd be nice to get him more readers. ^__~

... See, I knew I'd get carried away. *sighs* I pity the poor customers if I ever work in a bookshop.

"dodos that say plock"

*giggles*

Sounds like my kind of author. And british humour is quite well loved in Austalia. Probably because our humour is a little similar. I'm afriad to say that it seems to be americans who don't really get it. probably because Australia adores satire (and Monty Python) Americans don't seem so keen on making fun of themselves.....

You should love Jasper then. ^___^ He's fantastic.

Monty Python!! :D "Help help, I'm being repressed!" *loves*

The British do like to make fun of themselves. Do you get Little Britain over there? Takes funny to a whole new level. ^__^

*cackles*

"Al-baltross! Get you albatross!"

Yes we get Little Britain. I do like it although I prefer Dead Ringers. The fact that Little Britain guest stars Anthony Stewart Head helps though *grins*

Yay! I almost died when Little Britain won an award at the British Comedy Awards and they said "Oh, and we'd all like to thank the man from Buffy!" ^___^ I also love Dead Ringers, though I can no longer hear the real Tony Blair say *anything* without hearing the Dead Ringers guy in my head. ^__^ It makes his speeches much more entertaining.

British comedy. Gotta love it. :D

I adore the fake president Bush *snickers* It makes me crack up everytime I see the real one.

Fake!Bush is fantastic. ^___^ Maybe because Bush is so easy to make fun of...

And Bush-induced-giggling. ^__^ It's probably quite a common thing by now. I know I do it.
