Y'all. Y'ALL.
Buffy is now £63 on Amazon. My brother just sent me a £20 Amazon voucher for my birthday.
...So maybe I just bought the complete collection of Buffy. I chose that over the complete Stargate SG-1 for two reasons; SG-1 is still £104 so £20 doesn't go a whole way toward making it 'money I can afford to spend', and I already own three seasons of SG-1 (and have most of eight here and there). Plus, Buffy is... well, Buffy. I sold the two series I owned before I went backpacking to make a bit more money and promised myself I'd buy the complete collection when I had the money. Hopefully it won't be £53 this time next week (it was £73 last week) but even at £63 that's only £9/$14 a season and really, I can't see it going cheaper. At least not much cheaper. I just tempted Murphy's Law didn't I. Sigh.

My birthday last Tuesday was fun! Spent far far too much money in Lancaster (picked up Tim Minchin's So Fucking Rock special edition DVD which by the way? So worth it! There's bunch of stuff on there that's not in the E4 broadcast. By the way, E4's showing him again tomorrow night. If you haven't seen it before, you should watch. At the very least then some of my rambling posts may make more sense). Met
jesse_kips for Starbucks and catch-up and she bought the knife I used to carve my pumpkins tonight for me because I had no ID and I always get IDed. Thankfully I have friends who actually have their driving licences so I can carve pumpkins. ^__^
Speaking of pumpkins, ( my efforts this year (you'll already have seen this if you read my Twitter) )
Also on my birthday I went to see Up (in 2D, not 3D in an attempt to avoid the kids because it's been half-term. It worked because the 2D wasn't even a quarter full and there were only a few kids, all of whom were quiet the whole way through). I loved it, even though it made me cry many tears and was, possibly, not as good as Wall-e. Wall-e is one of my favourite films though, so that's probably not so helpful. It is lovely though and I think more of a film for adults than kids, despite some hilarious jokes ("SQUIRREL!" Bwahahah).
Something else that I thought while watching it but can't seem to find confirmation of; when the Doberman-boss dog's voice is broken? HE TOTALLY SOUNDS LIKE FOAMY. THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR HOW MUCH. I was actually convinced it was but I forgot to check the credits and IMDB just lists one guy as 'various dogs'. It sounded so much like Foamy that I laughed even more. <3
Then I came home to cupcakes (in lieu of an actual cake since we'd had a ton of cake lately). It was a nice day. V. quiet compared to my two and a half weeks of mad touring-the-country-in-search-of-funsies last year but then, I had a crap year last year compared to this one. I'm not complaining. :D Plus I had ( the awesomest birthday cake candles in the history of birthday cakes ) I love them muchly.

As you can see, in general my life hasn't been that exciting lately. I'm all signed up for NaNo but 48 minutes into November, I'm still at 0 words so... we'll see. My training plan didn't exactly work out but it made me write more than I've written for a while. I might make it. There's a pep talk from Jasper Fforde coming up this week which I'm quite deliriously excited for! So I have to make it to at least Wedesday.
Right. Off to watch the end of Nightmare Before Christmas and then finally blow out the pumpkin candles because I think 1am is a bit late for any more Trick or Treaters.
