Sep. 30th, 2008 02:54 pmTwilight Princess is mine!
But (there is a but. Actually, two) I bought it preowned, because I had a serious shock when I looked at my bank balance today and so saving £6 seemed worth it. I went through all the cases on the shelf to pick out the one which looked pretty much new and hoped the disc I got was the same.
Yeah, not so much. There's nothing deep or really seriously wrong with it, it's just the general wear and tatter that comes from a disc not being looked after. I don't give a smeg so long as it works fine, it's just irritating (especially when I look after my stuff regardless of whether or not I'm planning to sell it on. Gr.) There must've been seven discs there (there were seven cases on the shelf) and I'm sure some of them would've been in better condition. -_-
The second but? They've given me the GameCube instruction manual instead of the Wii one. So that's back tomorrow to be changed. I'll play the disc tonight and if it works fine, fine. If not that's back tomorrow to be changed too.
So on my first purchase from that shop, considering it's a big shop selling preowned everything from DVDS to laptops? I'd give it a four out of ten. I'll stretch that to a five if the disc works fine and they exchange the booklet for me, but saving £6 is not a bargain for a scratched disc and the wrong booklet. Seriously. Preowned stuff should be priced by what condition the object is in like on Amazon marketplace, not by how popular the game is so how much money can they get for it.
