Because I'm having a day of Bumming Around Just Because I Can, I'm watching The Neverending Story on ITV2. I once tried to explain this movie to my Cypriot flatmate who'd never heard of it but got as far as "And there's a giant flying dog-dragon who's lucky and their entire world is being eaten by Nothing but it's actually all this little boy reading a book and-" And her eyes glazed over. But I do love it. It's random and pretty even given the hokey special effects and Falcor is still the awesomest thing ever.

However, I do not love that I just went to IMDb to see what all the actors were doing now and on the page of Noah Hathaway, the boy who played Atreyu? One of the forum topics is 'rafael nadal'. I don't need to even read the damn message to know that every time I watch this movie forever and ever from now on, all I'll be able to think about Atreyu is "Wow, he really does look like Nadal."

Dear IMDb, I HATE YOU FOR RUINING MORE OF MY CHILDHOOD. GOD DAMN YOU.

In other news, I couldn't work out how to connect my ancient Playstation up to the TV so I can play FF8 again. I think I'm missing a cable. Not amused at all but then, Playstation 2s are actually pretty cheap now. I could just pick one of those up and I would've done already if I didn't have extreme guilt about my levels of spending these last two weeks. I really am supposed to be saving and Australia is not going to happen if I don't get some willpower. Plus I bought a stupidly expensive laptop when I didn't need or intend to, just because I was pissed at my brother taking so long which is a really dumb reason to spend almost £700. And I need to buy like three sets of train tickets, today really. So I really don't need to spend £80 on a Playstation 2.

...I wouldn't be this damn tempted if my damn laptop would just get here. Stupid Dell.

Things that I have missed; the light-hearted awesome that is Secret Diaries of a Call Girl. I didn't know it was starting again this week - sucky marketing there ITV2, considering I've even been watching Your Goddamn Advert-Filled Channel again for Lost in Austen - but I spotted the repeats tonight, so all is good. Momentarily woeful over the lack of Iddo Goldberg who was the reason I kept watching last year - yes I'm a sucker for a pretty face and simple unrequited love, shut up - but he showed up a few scenes in so all is well. That'd better not be his only appearance this series though, even with Callum Blue waiting in the wings because dammit, I liked Hannah/Ben for a year, you can't just substitute him that easily. Even if it is Callum Blue.

Mmmm. Okay maybe I'll learn to like it. ...But reluctantly! Damn you.

Also, Ben. -_- I'd forgotten that was the character's name. That name could not be stalking me any more lately. It's like in Serendipity where John Cusack is being stalked by the name Sarah, seriously. Ben is going to be the new Jack, I swear to the deity of your choice.

I've been so useless today that I'm only eating dinner now. God. I'm loving this peace-and-quiet thing but I need to be more organised.


edit: Oh christ on a cracker, I just realised why Djokovic always looked so familiar and it wasn't the Screech thing. Iddo Goldberg (the one who isn't Billie Piper, in case you were wondering). Novak Djokovic. Tell me there is something there and I'm not just crazy.
