Jul. 31st, 2008 04:07 pmThe mother and assorted aunties are going to see Mamma Mia on Saturday (assuming their usual lack of competence when it comes to planning these things doesn't wipe this plan out too) and since I'm not in a particularly Mamma Mia mood this summer, I'm thinking of going along to see something else because hey, it's the awesome Vue cinema. Just checked times (as you can tell, I'm really focusing hard on work today) and I could go see Hancock or X-Files.
I genuinely have never watched the X-Files. I mean, I've caught the odd five minutes here and there while waiting for the next program to start but I only kind of clued in to the fact I might like it when it was already a bazillion episodes in and I was too lazy to bother catching up. But I'd like to catch up, sometime (or
kindoftrouble will lock me in a room with nothing but a TV, DVD player and all the boxsets) and I'd be sad to think I missed the movie in a proper cinema. Or is that a dumb idea when I've never seen the show and I should just go watch Will Smith?
(I am resisting the urge to go see Wall-e again even though I loved it, and barely resisting the urge to check the Batman times because dammit, it's no wonder I miss everything I want to see if I go see the same films over and over).
Of course, if Roger happens to be playing that time on Saturday then I won't be going anyway. But, you know. Just in case.
