Feb. 6th, 2008 09:05 amSo the plumber is going to call to fit a new sink in our kitchen. As in, 'going to call *sometime* in the next two days'.
And since both the 'rentals are in work, I get to stay at home from 8am-5pm and while this may not seem like a difficult thing, I have to do it without being asleep at any point. On the nebulous threat of the plumber arriving and me sleeping through him banging on the door.
... Half an hour in and I've only thought about going back to bed with any seriousness three times. Oh yeah, I'm going to manage this just fine (just watch; I'll stay awake today and most of tomorrow, then fall asleep in the last hour - which will of course be the hour he calls. Bloody Murphy's Law.)
Mmmm. Must not think of sleep.
eta: I take it all back; he just turned up. He's only turning the water off for half an hour too, so it can't be taking him more than a couple of hours, tops. At which point there will be new sink and peacefulness and a complete negation of the above post.
Except, god I'm glad I didn't go back to bed on the assuption that he wouldn't show up this early. Phew.
