Had a day off today and, due to the mother deciding she needed to spend forever looking for an extension lead so we could compete with the rest of the street in having Christmas lights outside, managed to spend most of it hanging around shops. My room is such a tip and I meant to sort it, because I've only got one more day off before Christmas. >_< It's six days away and I'm working five of them. If someone would kindly burn down Waterstones for me sometime in the next forty-eight hours, I'd buy you an extra Christmas present. That or give you the bail money. Whatever. I've seriously gone off this whole working-over-Christmas thing.
I'm working 'til 9pm Saturday and I'm in work for 9am on the Sunday, until half five and then 9-6 Monday. I'm going to sleep through Christmas.
On the plus side... my cold is pretty much gone and I've written my last Christmas cards; some of them may even get there before Christmas. But the other part of
kindoftrouble's Christmas present hasn't arrived yet, so that probably won't. Bah. Maybe if it gets here tomorrow and I post it Thursday.
Also, I chased after the postman in t-shirt, cargo pants and nothing else today, because our doorbell's broken so I hadn't answered the door when he rang it - it wasn't until I went to check the sound of post arriving that I found a notice saying "sorry you weren't in; there's a package for you!". It was worth it when he gave me a box from
scoobydumblonde though; I haven't looked, because international Christmas presents are early-morning-Christmas-Day traditions now, but the thought of it'll get me through the next week.
Something needs to. Can it be January now plz?
edit: A good thing to come out of the shopping trip; I bought a big teddy-owl that looks oddly life-like. It freaks my mother out hilariously. Oh, and when I have £200 to waste? There's a full-size panther with my name on it. He was gorgeous. I'm going to put him randomly in my front window to scare passers-by. ^_^
It's the little things that matter. Really, it is.
