Oct. 24th, 2007 10:59 amI finally got a letter back for the photography job. I'd pretty much written it off by this point anyway but it's still sad to not get something you really would've loved to have done. It's a very nice letter though, and they promise to keep my details on file. Unfortunately them being so nice just makes me wish I worked for them more.
On a petty level, I really hope the horrible girl my aunt works with didn't get it. She had more photography experience but she comes across as one of those demon people who you never, ever want to work with because they're such a pain in everyone's ass. It would annoy me that someone so awful could beat me for a job, and I wouldn't want her terrible to be inflicted on anyone who sent me such a polite rejection letter.
I did finally get through to the asshats at the job centre yesterday (after they passed me around some of the wrong people first. Again). I have to go in and sign forms on November 1st. Endless stacks of forms. Joy.
BUT. On the plus side of life I have my costume for Friday (no, it's not a gothic fairy anymore because it was going to cost too much and no, I'm not telling you what it is because that way the pictures will be a nice surprise. ;) Though as a clue, when I decided on it I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it from the beginning), I'm just about to go shopping for the final thing to complete my birthday cake AND, most importantly, I got a big box of birthday presents from
scoobydumblonde yesterday, which made my week. I didn't open them even though there was a note saying I could, because anticipating the opening of presents is as exciting as actually opening them. :D I hard to tape the box back up to help me resist though because there's cards, and shiny and I love presents. I really do.
Sssssh. You're allowed to be shallow on your birthday. :)
