There was a guy in our English lecture yesterday with the most beautiful New Zealand (Kiwi?) accent, talking about this program and urging us to sign up if we're interested. Thinking I might go along to the meeting tomorrow, check it out. Especially since I was sulking last night about not having left the country for about three years.

Oh, and just got an email from George about a fantasy/sci-fi/graphic novels conference in Dublin later this term. Which, if it happens, I am *so going to*.

I'm actually thinking about doing proper life-stuff. It's-- weird. New experience for me.

edit: Except I just checked the prices on that ISV thing and wow. Almost £1500? *Not* including airfare? Yeah, maybe I'll have to rethink that.

Which is really irritating when it looks awesome fun.

God, Paypal annoys me.

In related news: I have no willpower. Not that that's exactly news anymore.

edit: Really, did I mention that I hate PayPal? With a fiery passion? Now I have no idea what I've ordered or not and what the hell I have to do about it.

Going to simmer with quiet fury in the corner, because people are idiots.

edit: I give up. None of it makes sense. Going to (finally) do some creative writing and ignore it. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. At least it distracted me from work for a good ten minutes.

Argh.

I'm in one of those horrible twitchy moods, when I'm bored stupid but everything is too much effort or too annoying or not what I really want to do. I mean, the Muppets are in the small tank right now because I'm meant to be cleaning the large one but it took so long to catch them, I got bored. Or, I was meant to write 1,000 words of some original story yesterday and submit it but I'm only at 200 words. Or I could fic or icon or go check my post but it's all such a pain in the ass.

ARGH. SELF, STOP BEING SO ANNOYING.

I might've mentioned before that reviewing things for the university newspaper means you get to keep them after. Hence why I got a free DVD box set of Ghost in the Shell last year and various books and whatnot free. There isn't always good stuff but it's worth waiting for the times there is.

But it's not usually as good as R calling me to say she'd got the entire season nine of Stargate SG-1 and season two of Stargate: Atlantis on DVD and would I like them? For the price of a couple of reviews?

What can you say, except hell yes!!? ^_______________^

My effective half-abandonment of tennis toward the end of last year ran right over the time Roger was blogging from Japan, so I didn't do more than give it a brief skim at the time. And now I'm reading it properly and going "What, was I blind, deaf and stupid back then?" How often does one half of your OTP hand you their week's diary just a mouse click away? Honestly.

Also, one of the pictures has him wearing the same t-shirt [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble bought me from the US Open. I may've made a noise similar to a cat getting its tail stepped on, I was trying so hard not to shriek with glee. My flatmates already think I'm crazy for apparently laughing to myself all the time. Tennis is a funny sport you know.

Related-but-not-really; I need to get Miko to teach me some Japanese. It has some utterly fantastic words.

edit: You might've noticed that my mood has improved considerably from earlier. Yes. Um. I can be such a brat. ;) It only takes a few silly little things like reading about Roger's man!crush on James Bond and having a lovely clean fish tank to watch, to cheer me up completely.

Fickle. So very fickle (I did not just type that fuckle. I really didn't. *facepalm*)
