So Doctor Who pretty much walked all over everyone in the BBC Drama awards, naturally. Rose's exit got best moment and all is right with the world.

Vaguely amused that the winner's graphics aren't even close to being as good as the ones [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble made for the tennis slash awards. I mean, come on BBC, you are something of a big thing. Hire someone who has some Photoshop skill okay? If I can do it, it can't be that hard.

Still reading for my essay or I will be in a second, since I only got back from my long fiction seminar less than an hour ago. Our tutor = awesome. I think she mentioned Joss Whedon about seven or eight times in about twenty minutes, as an example of how to do things. Have a feeling we're going to get on.

And now... once more unto the perils of essay writing. Finishing the reading for a couple of hours, doing the plan for a couple and then starting the essay late afternoonish time. Hopefully. Working on five and a half hours sleep here, so there might have to be a power nap factored into that somewhere.

As of now, I'm around two hours behind schedule on the essay. Was meant to have finished planning and be about to start writing by now but I'm just finishing off the last bit of reading -- for some reason I was convinced I'd read too much on Midsummer Night's... so I focused on Shrew, only to realise I hadn't read anything on MSN'sDat all. Am crazy. Also, I kind of dozed off earlier and that put me behind. Alas.

Still, my method of reading --> detailed planning --> write essay was confirmed today, when girl in my writing seminar confessed she was quite far into the essay but hadn't really bothered to plan anything so she felt like she was kind of going in circles.

Also a reassuring thought is that I didn't start my 4,000 words project last year until late afternoon/evening and I'd reached over 2,000 words by midnight. As long as I start this within the next couple of hours, I might even have it done before 4am.

Which would be nice, considering I have to be up at 9am. Um. Yes.

I love Neil Gaiman. He can make even Shakespeare, after days of endless reading, seem fun.

However, haven't started planning yet. Um. Did I mention that I wasn't planning to sleep tonight anyway?

edit: God. I'm not even writing the essay yet and I'm bored. Planning's hugely annoying because I have all these ideas while reading, scribble them across various pages and post-its and books, only to have to hunt them all down again to form the plan. You'd think that after two years and multiple essays, I'd have learnt what a dumb idea it is but no.

On the plus side, I've decided to open and finish with Neil Gaiman quotations. To make myself feel better, if nothing else.

And I'm already tired. >_< Oh dear. HELLO FAILING.

FIRST HUNDRED WORDS HAVE BEEN TYPED.

2,900 left to go. Fifteen and a half hours left, minus probably naps, coffee trips and maybe, maybe my seminar in the morning if I'm done.

... Shoot me now.

edit: 200 words. And I re-read the question and went "..." because it's almost what I've been skewing my research toward but... not quite. Which means I'm either going to have to be very, very careful or very, very careful.

Did... did I mention the shooting?

edit: Buggerbuggerbugger, how do I quote Shakespeare? I can keep it within the line right, if it's not over four lines? Least I think it is. Bugger. Then do I reference it in footnotes or..

Wait! Someone answered this on the network. *hops off to look*

Oh and 516 (crap) words. Except for the Neil Gaiman quote; that's not crap, because it's *Neil* and he just isn't.

edit: WHY IS THE NETWORK DOWN WHEN I NEED TO KNOW THIS? *frets* Or... I can poke L and/or R in the morning. Hhmm. Or now. L should still be awake.

edit: L is still up and still has an essay to write too, plus she knows about four or five other people in the same place. J isn't even handing hers in tomorrow; she's going to take the 10% off and keep working on it.

*exhales slowly* Breathe. Half the Shakespeare course is doing exactly the same as you right now. It's okay.

... 517 words. Shutup. I was on the phone asking about referencing Shakespeare! ;)

edit: 661 words. I'm no way going to make 1,500 by midnight. *sadness*

edits behind a cut from now on, since I have a feeling there'll be much grouching tonight )
