I hate cutting words out of things. -_- This 'Who article's meant to be 200-300 words and I ended up at around 560. Down to 390 now but it's reaching the point where I can't cut any more words out without rendering entire sentences incomprehensible. Which means deleting paragraphs.

More annoying is when you send an article in having madly cut things out to get it to length and the editor promptly rewrites it to add an extra hundred or so words. Grr.

Also, doing work after being a bum all summer is hard. It's suddenly hit me that I've got a week and a half left and I haven't even read all my main dissertation books yet. Um. Where did the summer go?

I got annoyed like you wouldn't believe about phone posts screwing up my journal to the point where it was change or give up on LJ. I miss my pretty sidebar pictures, alas. This'll be a temporary thing until I can sit down and go through a later Opal code but maybe it was time for a change. Maybe an autumn theme to keep with the seasons. Mmm.

In the meantime, grr. -_- Hate journal.

Lightening quick rec: Learning to Fly by [livejournal.com profile] nessaja82, Doctor Who, Rose-POV from way back all the way up until after Doomsday. Heartbreaking and perfect and everything good 'Who fic should be. I *cried*, because I'm a sap but also because it's written beautifully. Go, give her cookies because it was muchly awesome.
