clo_again: (Andy - Talking to the wall)
"Blah blah blah, you shouldn't have posters on your walls" "Yes I know, I said I was in here last year" "Blah blah blah the wire for your lamp is hanging" even though it isn't "Blah blah blah did you report not having a window restrictor on your inventory" which I didn't this year since I didn't do it (which is totally going to get me fined *sigh*) "Yes, we all reported it last year since we never had them" "Blah blah blah okay..." Ack I hate that woman. She's also bitched about us "staining" the carpet in the corridor which we haven't, it's workmen stomping along it in muddy boots and we got told to defrost one of the freezers because its got a very fine film of ice on a couple of the drawer fronts and that our grill pans need cleaning, even though they're currently sitting shiny and clean in the cupboard where they didn't bother to look. It's so stupid. If they didn't want us to put posters up, paint the walls a better colour than mental asylum white, or give us a pinboard on the wall beside the bed. I'd like to see The Dragon live in a stark white room for a year.

/rant.

On the flip side, I now have a shiny and sparkling room and bathroom. Downside is that a guy may turn up at some point to put a restrictor on my window and I feel like screaming "THE DAMN BUILDING IS TOO HOT ALREADY, FOR GODSSAKE LEAVE ME MY ONLY HOPE OF SURVIVING THE SUMMER." It's irritating to know that they're doing it for the dumb drunk students who'll fall out and when you don't do the "getting-drunk-enough-to-fall-out-of-windows" thing, it sucks to be punished for it anyway. Besides, it's not like anyone's going to jump out of our windows with suicidal intentions; we're only on the fourth floor, so you'd probably just break a lot of stuff. Four floors kind've looks insignificant compared to like the twenty of Bowland Tower up on main campus.

At least it's over and we hid the fish for another year and she promised me it's entirely random so oh please god don't let me get it again next year because that would suck. Though Sod's Law probably means I'll get it again. Like I said, at least my room's tidy.

Now I have to go do the stuff I haven't done all day because I was rushing to fix everything for the room inspection. Sigh.

My life just got better when I realised the Scrubs season 5 ep I downloaded from Illegal Student Network yesterday... only first aired in the US *yesterday*.

I love my crazy-perhaps-semi-criminal-but-lovely fellow students.

edit: No wait, my mistake. We're one week behind dammit. Though still, that means I should be able to look at for the newest one showing up soon. *still pleased*

When looking for hotels in London, it helps to have an idea of the basic layout of, well, London. Which I really really don't. *boggles at the choice and so many place names*

Think I'll be recruiting [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble's Superior London Know-how later on. On the plus side, the prices aren't as crippling as I thought, although it was disconcerting to search for budget hotels and have the first one on the list come up as 'up to £1115 per night'. I scrolled past that one pretty quick. :)

Because I was shifting a few songs from my laptop to the new computer and I was using both Hotmail and YouSendIt to speed things up (I haven't bought a memory stick thing yet. Ssshh.) Figured it was silly to waste the YouSendIt downloads, so if you're feeling bored and want something to listen to:

6 Underground - Sneaker Pimps. I love this song with passion. It gets better everytime you listen to it.

Golden Brown - The Stranglers. Seen Snatch? If you have, it's the music that plays on that really cool overhead pull-out shot when Mickey's knocked Gorgeous George out. If not well, it's kind of... it's the kind of song that gets stuck in your head and can't stop humming the tune all damn day. Pretty though.

I Alone - Live. I can never make my mind up if I like this song or not, but I'm still listening to it years later trying to figure it out, so I guess there must be some love there. Plus it's a little creepy and that's always for the good.

One Thing - Finger Eleven. First heard this on a WWE promotional vid thing, I can't remember who for. Jeff Hardy maybe? Which probably only added to my adoration of it but it was the most beautiful song then and it still is and the singer sounding on the verge of tears at times kills me.

Okay, I'm going back to fic before [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble and [livejournal.com profile] lossi get mad now. ;-) Also, ow. Why the hell have I got a headache? *baffled*
