Jan. 5th, 2006 01:56 amNope, my DVD player is flat out refusing to finalize discs for no apparent reason. And the manual is, oh-so-helpfully, in Lancaster. I'll buy new DVDs tomorrow and see if that helps but at the moment it's heading for a good kicking.
I hate technology. :( I'm going back to Lancaster in two days; I need to get all the stuff off Sky recorded or I won't be able to. Of all the stupid times to break.
Sleep. Maybe it'll stop me hitting the DVD recorder with a sledgehammer. Argh.
edit: Well huh. It finalized one of the rewritable DVDs -- that I'd never used because they didn't work on my laptop -- just fine. And even better, it plays on the new computer. So all is not lost, I can put everything on the RW ones and hopefully it'll work.
The moral of this story? Don't send your father out to buy blank DVDs because you think it's a simple task. Firstly he came back with the wrong ones - -Rs when I told him +Rs several times - and now he's managed to get faulty ones. Marvellous. Gold star for ingenuity. Sigh.
Sleep. Yes.
