clo_again: (Roger - gonna be alright)
When watching BBC news, they mention this and my immediate response is to abandon the TV, head upstairs and check [livejournal.com profile] london_070705. Only to find a post already up telling me exactly what the news just told me.

*chews her nails and goes back to refreshing the BBC website*

No reported fatalities, police are arresting some of the supposed perpetrators, some Tube stations are reported to be running again. Either some guys were very bored and felt like spending the rest of their lives in prison for the chance to simply disrupt London for a few hours or a day, or they were just really bad at putting bombs together. Which considering when I looked up 'detonators', the first website that came up gave me detailed instructions on making them and making things explode? Yeah, these people weren't so smart. And I can't believe that website is legal. Funny though.

In other news... I think I've *finally* got the DVD recorder into some semblence of working. More news when I find out if it's worked. Fingers crossed.

Clo

EDIT: Actually, scratch that. I managed to record half an hour of BBC, recording from the Sky box is proving more... complicated. Right now I can't record *anything* off Sky, which kind of defeats the object of buying the recorder, since that's what it's for. -_- Left a message for my brother begging for help. We'll see what happens.

*wails* I want my shiny screencaps dammit!

EDIT: My brother is awesome. He just rang from work to help me out - and I *think* he might've cracked it. I did record from Sky, now it's just a question of whether or not the Sky box will record. *crosses her fingers and toes*

EDIT: And so, I've successfully recorded from the Sky box onto the DVD. YAY! Unfortunately, both my laptop and the normal DVD player refuse to read said disc, so the only thing I can play it back through is the recorder itself. Which, since I want to watch the discs on a normal DVD player in Lancaster... isn't helpful. -_-

Also just snickered at the woman when she suggested I needed to "Ask my brother for a 'little programme' for my laptop to make it run the disc', because the amount of DVD-running things I have on this laptop should be able to run anything. She's now stormed off to water her garden. -_- 'Rents.

Um...

[livejournal.com profile] liroa15? You might want - or not want, really - to check Roger's website.
