Well, there's not much else I can think of to say about London now. Just... yeah. Everyone I know down there has checked in okay, though the son of a family friend actually passed through King's Cross minutes before, and their daughter who would have usually been there happened to be in a meeting in Gatwick today. My cousin - who got safely to work beforehand - was also thinking of kipping down in his office for the night if the transport was going to be too bad for him to get home but at least everyone's safe.

You don't realise how many people you know in a city until you have to check up on them.

In other news, my mouth was frozen for most of the afternoon after my trip to the dentist. Root canal wasn't as bad as I expected - the puffed up face after was worse. Hope that's it over and done with now. Got taken out for dinner as a reward for good results once my mouth defrosted and that was awesome I've been told I need to talk more British so I can't say that anymore spiffy. Mmmmmmm, duck and pancakes. Nothing has ever tasted that gorgeous. And tomorrow I'm getting my hair cut ready to go down to Cardiff, where I'm now staying till Tuesday. Still should have limited 'net access while I'm there though, so that's okay.

Today has been... yeah. One of those days. *ponders quietly*

You really can spend hours doing nothing but keeping up - or trying to keep up - with LJ comments. Wow.

Off to bed now, since I have to be up early in the morning and I have plenty of fic to write tomorrow. Plus my contacts are annoying me and I'm too lazy to go take them out unless I'm actually going upstairs anyway. ^__^

Night!

Seriously, feels like I just rolled out of bed and yet it's 4pm. And I really haven't accomplished anything, which means a fic and award-nomination blitz in a minute, but guess I should let everyone know I'm still alive first. I apologise if I'm cranky. It's too bloody hot once again and I'm about twenty seconds away from emptying my bank account and moving to Antartica. Whoever invented summer should be made to walk around shops in jeans on a hot day and then asked how bloody smart they feel.

o.O Sorry. Cranky.

On the plus side, my hair has been cut, though it's still long in that it's still a good few inches past shoulder-length. I do like having my hair washed at my hairdressers. It was like Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Haircare Product; the first lot of shampoo smelt like bananas, the second like lemon, the third like strawberry bubblegum - I kid you not, I was so close to stealing the bottle and trying to eat it - and later she was spraying lime-scented smoothing stuff... if I thought I could've afforded them, I would've asked what she was using and tried to do it myself. I told her I just wanted it cut straight since I hadn't really decided what I wanted and I just needed the ends trimmed but then she asked what I wanted to do with the shorter layers at the front and I asked what she thought and when she said chin-length, I had a brief "WTF?!" moment. And then I said perhaps the silliest thing you can say to a scissor-wielding girl, with red and black-streaked hair that looks like it's lost a fight with a lawnmower (I love my hairdressers but they have some of the insanest hair styles) which was... "Yeah whatever, just go for it."

So now I have layers again, only this time too short to tie into a ponytail, which yes will drive me nuts. But I like it and she straightened it and used enough sleeky-stuff on it to probably power a small car, so it's smooth for oh, at least the next few hours. My hair really doesn't get on with the whole concept of 'smooth and shiny'. At least it'll be nice for this weekend.

Though she was insulting henna again. She said it reacts with everything. Um, been using it for over a year now and have had a whole lot of no problems? Yet when I had red streaks dyed in my hair with actual dye, it dried my hair out and bleached it bronzy-orange for years afterwards. Yeah, sticking with henna thanks.

And then I spent more money which I don't have since my college has not paid my room deposit back yet, which I am not happy about. Yes I didn't sign the form and hand it back in but it was only to say if anything had changed about where you wanted it paid back to. They have £140 of my money and I'm going to ring Edwina when I get back from Cardiff and bitch at her until she gives it back. I have no money dammit! *is woefully broke*

Other than that, haven't done anything - except utterly confuse my more-than-slightly deaf gran on the phone, don't ask - and yet it's late afternoon. *ponders* Time is moving too quickly. Make it stop.

Right, off to be accomplished fic-wise before I disappear to south Wales for the weekend.
