Okay...

... just realised I didn't say what I meant in the last entry. When I said 'or wait a little longer and get an extract from Datta', I meant yo'd have to wait longer so I could finish the Halcyon epilogue and then write the extract. So you'd get both, just later than you would have if you'd only had the one. Which was what I meant to say and it didn't really come out like that. *blinks*

So here's some fic, the epilogue to Halcyon (I got to type Fin at the end!!! *shrieks and dies*) and a short - sorry - extract from Datta, the first of the trilogy of Halcyon spin-off-sequel-thingys. (Haven't found a good word for them yet. ^__~)

Title: Epilogue(Halcyon 12)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Implied Roddick/Fish, implied Federer/Haas, Roddick/Federer, Fish/Haas/Safin
Summary: … The world ended. People didn’t. Not quite.
Notes: AU fic set in a hypothetical post-‘apocalyptic’ near future (I do love my apocalypses and jumping on the current AU bandwagon seemed like a good idea.)
Disclaimer: Hasn’t… um, won’t happen to my knowledge, the various tennis players own themselves. Blame the plotbunnies. They started it.
Dedications: As always for liroa15,scoobydumblonde and australian_imp for far too much encouragement. :) Despite the death threats. ;)
Warnings: Abuse, violence, deaths of various RL people you may be fond of, mentions of terrorism, voluntary/involuntary drug use, the world post-‘apocalypse', probably more I've missed. It’s all fun and games here.

Part One - The Wasteland
Part Two - Living on Promises
Part Three - If Only
Part Four - Words and...
Part Five - ... Actions
Part Six - Running
Part Seven - Under the Shadow
Part Eight - Playing the Hero
Part Nine - Fallen
Part Ten - ...
Part Eleven - Shantih

(H12) Epilogue )

Title: Datta (Give) (extract)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Haas/Other
Summary: Tommy, Marat and Mardy each have a history and secrets they want to keep.
Notes: The first of three fics that will be a mix of spin offs of, and sequels to, Halcyon (AU fic set in a hypothetical post-‘apocalyptic’ near future.) The titles are taken from a line in T.S. Eliot’s The Wasteland, “Datta. Dayadhvam. Damyata.” which translate from Sanskrit to ‘Give’ ‘Sympathise’ and ‘Control’.
Disclaimer: Hasn’t… um, won’t happen to my knowledge, the various tennis players own themselves, T.S. Eliot owns ‘The Wasteland’. Blame the plotbunnies. They started it.
Warnings: Abuse, violence, death, mentions of terrorism and drug use both voluntary and involuntary, graphic sex, the world post-‘apocalypse', probably more.
Dedications: As always for liroa15, scoobydumblonde and australian_imp for far too much encouragement. :)

Datta )

And now I'd better go to bed. *sighs* Back to Lancaster tomorrow. I'm going to miss my sofa.

EDIT: It's half five in the morning and I want to shriek with glee because MY F-LIST RULES!!

*skips gleefully off to read the pretty tennis slash*

EDIT: Ah shit! Continuity! Shit!! I think I can still make it work. Phew. Thank god I gave myself a safety margin.

These fics are going to kill me.

EDIT: Argh, it's light outside. I need to go to bed. Mass comment-answering madness tomorrow, when I can form coherent thoughts.

I still love my f-list. ^___^
clo_again: (Roger-Evanescence)
"Perhaps it's because I've been reading Metamorphoses for the last week or so, in which basic plotlines are "God fancies mortal. God rapes mortal. Mortal falls in love but is miserable. God turns mortal into a bird", I'm not actually capable of getting particularly offended by the Healing Rape fics. Admittedly they're utterly unrealistic and hugely OOC, but if it's good enough for Ovid ...

... mind you, I doubt any of these fics are being written in Latin."

- big_bad_wolf over on fandom_wank.

Two years. For two entire years, I studied a subject that all came down to that basic plotline. I miss Classics. Teh crazee was so beautiful. *tear*

Other thoughts for the day - Coria should be slashed more often because he really is pretty. Must keep that in mind.

Speaking of slash, I want to get the final part of the Pretty Close to Invincible series done sometime this week, so no definites for when Datta or the first part of Datta will be up. Will try not to make you all wait too long since I value my life.

I have too much to do today and I'm not dressed yet. Dammit. Must stop admiring Coria and go be productive. Annnny minutes now.

Clo

EDIT: Another comment on fandom_wank just got me thinking - is it possible to google anything and still get slash somewhere in the results?

I am so tempted to waste spend the rest of my day testing this. Or at least try googling for something like 'blue' and seeing how many clicks it takes me to get to slash. *ponders*

Also? Tennis commentators need to stop saying 'Vilos' now please. I don't care if it's a guy's name. Come and talk to my Cypriot flatmates, ask what it means and then never say it ever again because I can't watch the match when I'm falling off my chair in shock. Thank you.
clo_again: (andy brilliance)
Innocently playing on the Sims (finally!) earlier, I was idly pondering Datta and how to link all three spin offs together. About a second later I was falling off my chair scrambling for my notebook as I *finally* twigged what the muses want to happen. *sighs with happiness* On the downside it involves working out all the dates of the backstory - remind me why I wanted specific dates for all these things again? - but thankfully I gave myself a good margin for error when I vaguely established the initial backstory, so hopefully it should all work out. And certain people on my f-list will be happy to know that it's heavily Tommy and Mardy centric. *grins* With a good dose of Andy and Roger thrown in. I can't believe how much I'm suddenly looking forward to writing these. *sighs happily again*

So that was a big accomplishment of the day. I also want to snuggle Rafa and Coria because they're wonderful. *snuggles* I'm just sad that I don't get to see the final tomorrow. *sighs mournfully* I'm going to miss Sky TV for the next four weeks, especially since I just discovered when Smallville and Scrubs is on. Still, I'll survive. Plenty of fic to keep me occupied. ;-)

Finally - could I love the new Doctor Who anymore? I don't think so. ^___^Sure it's cheesy and silly and far-fetched but it's so bloody fun.

*blinks* Yelling from downstairs. Better go be nosy see what's up.
