MARDY GETS A TOUGH DRAW IN INDIAN WELLS... He meets fellow American Jan-Michael Gambill in the first round of the mini-Grand Slam, which has a draw of 128. Gambill is up 3-1 in their head-to-head but Mardy the most recent meeting (Wimbledon 2003).

The winner of the match will go on to meet Roger Federer in Round 2.

*crosses fingers for Mardy* I want Roger/Mardy dammit!

In other news my body seems to have gone haywire lately. I have a rash on my hands that I think just got worse when I put cream on to *help*, my stomach's been killing me all day - though not eating properly probably isn't helping - and I think I twisted my knee in my sleep because I hobbled to philosophy this morning. It's insane; I've hardly been ill in years and all of a sudden it's like everything's caught up with me. *shakes head* Nothing that feels too bad, it's just little, irritating things. I need a holiday. Thankfully I only have one more essay to do and then it's Easter. :) Yay!

In fic news, Halcyon 3 is over halfway done and is still on to be posted later. Would be almost finished but flatmates distracted me. *grumbles* I'm starting to get more of an idea of what's going on right now but it's still a little confused. I think this is one fic I'll have to go back and edit the hell out of when it's done.

Off to keep ficcing. :) Later.

... and no doubt I will die of shock tomorrow when I realise how badly this needs it, but it's 4am and I promised to get it up, so editing can happen tomorrow (...today). The far-to-heavy-angst may knock everyone unconscious before the end anyway, so I guess that would stop any complaints. ;)

Oh and I finally got round to working out dates. Backdating will be added to the first two parts at some point, but it's mainly important to keep track of everything from here I think.

Finally continuity? Happens to other people. Actually this is still being sorted out in my head and there will be a major editing bash to make the things that don't quite fit, fit when it's done. In the meantime... don't let them bother you too much?

Title: If Only (Halcyon 3)
Rating: R (for now)
Pairing: Fish/Roddick (for now, implied), very faint hints of Roddick/Federer, and… a surprise. :)
Summary: … The world ended. People didn’t. Not quite.
Notes: AU fic set in a hypothetical post-‘apocalyptic’ near future (I do love my apocalypses and jumping on the current AU bandwagon seemed like a good idea.) But this is one plot bunny that hasn’t had enough caffeine to sort itself out yet and I’m still sorting the threads out, so bear with me. Centred mainly around Roger’s POV with side trips into... well that would be telling. ;)
Disclaimer: Hasn’t… um, won’t happen to my knowledge, the various tennis players own themselves. Blame the plotbunnies. They started it.
Dedications: For [livejournal.com profile] liroa15, who may refuse to speak to me after this. For [livejournal.com profile] scoobydumblonde who let us convert her and kept begging for this next part. For everyone who encouraged me with this. It may have been a bad idea. :)
Warnings: Abuse, violence, deaths of various RL people you may be fond of, mentions of terrorism, voluntary/involuntary drug use, the world post-‘apocalypse', probably more I've missed. It’s all fun and games here.

halcyon - adj 1: idyllically calm and peaceful; suggesting happy tranquillity; "a halcyon atmosphere".

Part One - The Wasteland
Part Two - Living on Promises

H3 - If Only )

Was the angst better than last time? :)Melodrama, whee!

I just had an English lecture on, basically, sex in fairytales. The lecturer used the words 'fuck or be fucked'. Three times. I didn't think lecturers *knew* words like that.

Ah, English is a good subject. :)

Room has not been inspected yet but all is still clean and shiny. *crosses fingers*

OMG!! Neighbours is so dramatic! *shrieks*

EDIT: Um... not obsessed. Nope. Three of us didn't run screaming down the hallway half an hour ago yelling 'Neighbours! We're missing Neighbours!'

Honestly. *giggles*
