... how important it is that I'm in the right *mood* for the sort of fic I want to write. I listen to the right 'mood' of music, drink certain drinks, read certain quotes and generally just 'think' the right sort of way. It's fun. :) Of course it means that one day I'll have to just sit down and *write* something without any of it and it'll be a pain in the ass but until then...

And since I'm planning on posting fic this weekend - muses willing - here's the quote that inspired it (it showed up on June of the Roddick/Federer/Fish calendar too):

That marvellous landscape of my dream-
Which no eye knows, nor ever will-
At moments, wide awake, I seem
To grasp, and it excites me still..."

- Charles Baudelaire, Parisian Dream

And another clue - it's the sequel to one of the ficlets. I'll let you all guess which one. *grins* (And yes I am attempting pitiful revenge on [livejournal.com profile] liroa15 for all the tiny, delicious snippets of her fic she's been feeding me. ^__~)

To fic!

My network cable does not like being unplugged when I'm waiting for tennis slash. In fact it hates it precious, it does. Which meant I didn't get tennis slash until this morning and lo, there was Grate Woe. However I've read it now and am happily catching up with reviews and comments and contemplating chinsese later while I write my own slash. Which is doing well... but is shaping up to be longer than I planned. Which is good on one hand - it's about time I wrote something a little longer again - but means I'll have to work hard to get it up. Especially since I stupidly agreed to go hiking tomorrow. *woe* It'll be fun but... not when I have so much to do. Of all the weekends to pick... Not that I ever have enough time anyway, so I guess it doesn't make much difference.

An extra three or four hours in the day is my wish for next Christmas. Please. >_<

On the plus side I finally found something to send with [Bad username or site: mercury32's @ livejournal.com] birthday present... which yes, it going to be horrendously late since I won't have time to send it until Thursday with S staying until Wednesday.

*sulks in the corner because the world is interfering with what she really wants to be doing*

Flatmate of d00m rant )

Okay. That feels better. *deep breath* Ignore me. I'm just sleep deprived and hungry. Ngh.

Okay, due to various distractions and lack of time and muses deciding long fic is fun (bastards), this fic won't be finished tomorrow unless it pours down with rain and then I am so not going to bother going hiking, screw it so what would you all rather have, the first part tomorrow and the concluding part Wednesday night after S leaves, or it all at once Wednesday? It won't be 'finished finished' then, because I get the feeling this is going to another Bounty sort of editing trip, but it'll at least be in some sort of semblence of order and an ending to it. If you want it in parts then the first part'll probably be around 3-4000 words, with the second part being anything from 3500 upwards.

Had Chinese. Got K to watch the first episode of Firefly for which I am gleeful - maybe I'll finally get another crazy Firefly nut to talk to. Room is sort of clean, ready for S's arrival. No English reading has been done, at all, but I'm taking the book to read on the bus tomorrow. I just kind of wish we hadn't picked this weekend to go hiking y'know, because I don't feel like I've stopped *all* week and a full day off to relax tomorrow would be bliss. I'm not praying for rain because I need the exercise and it will be fun, just... *sigh* More time in the day would be good. Please.

Back to fic!
