Not really productive but something...

liroa15 - there will be more, I just wanted to feel like I achieved something tonight. :)
To bed! Have my Creative Writing seminar tomorrow and I'm half-interested, half-worried about the general reaction to the drabbles... hey! At least it'll be different.
Until tomorrrow - or actually later today...

Mixed day. Creative Writing seminar was... interesting. Basically the response from the entire group was 'Yeah, drabbles. They were cool and different and we liked them. Go you." Then the tutor's response was basically "Yeah they're a very good exercise and 'I'm trusting your word that there are a hundred words in each', but you've fallen into horrible, disgusting stereotypes and the Japan you show isn't the Japan I know and" and so and so on. So I was a little... o_O. But as L pointed out privately later, they may be stereotypes but they were true. American kids do eat ice cream. The Japanese do have a tea ceremony. The Chinese *do* have a flower festival to celebrate the New Year. Australians do have beach parties at Christmas. What she said really stung because frankly, I couldn't see where she was coming from - she literally had nothing good to say. Which kind of hurts because I really did put a lot more work than usual into them. So... that really put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I honestly think her problem was that she couldn't see the drabble as anything more than an 'exercise' - whereas I consider it, however frustrating, a perfectly good form for a story, if you can fit it in a hundred words.
So... that hurt. -_- It helped that the rest of the seminar group, even the guy who usually is brutally rude about other work, liked them. *sighs*
So really haven't had a supremely wonderful day. Kind of one of those days when you wish you'd stayed in bed. :) I'm not going to promise any fic tonight because when I promise it, it never gets done but I'll be working on some.
I think I need some coffee. *sigh*
