Saturday:

Saturday night; An evening flurry; otherwise, mostly cloudy and very cold, with a 40 percent chance of precipitation. Near gale force wind, for a time, from the West-North-West, with a minimum temperature of -1 degrees Celsius (30f).

That isn't *quite* what I was hoping for. :( *sad*

BUT. It is Christmas and any chance of snow is enough for me. So I shall be happy with anything, from a few flakes upwards. I'd love it to stick, even for a few hours.

I have to go to bed now which makes me sad too - I don't want to miss Christmas by sleeping. However I need to be up horrendously early to wake the rest of the family, in keeping with tradition. This involves various bouncing on beds, playing loud Christmas music and shrieking "CHRISTMAS!! GRATE YAY!!!!" until I am forcibly made to shut up. ;) Then it all gets a little anticlimactic and I'll probably go back to bed.

Anyway. If you're in a Christmas Day timezone right now, I HOPE YOU'RE HAVING A WONDERFUL DAY!! *hugs* If you're still going through Christmas Eve, HAVE A GREAT DAY TOMORROW!! *more hugs*

I love Christmas. ^_^

Have had an unexpectedly marvellous day - I was quite content with the fact I wasn't getting many presents this year, since the 'rents claimed to be 'cutting down' - yet I seem to have ended up with lots and lots of pretty things, far more than I needed or really deserved I think. Although I feel awful for my brother who seemed to have a fraction of the presents I had. o_o Admittedly he didn't send the 'rents his xmas list until Dec 18th by which time they'd already finished their shopping but I think they could have bought him just one or two things off it. Although he did *seem* to have a lot under the tree... so I don't know, maybe he's just been hungover today, not miserable. I feel bad for him though, and wish I'd spent more on him even though I couldn't really afford much. *sighs* If only he didn't ask for such expensive things... at £40 a computer game and £15-20 per DVD, it all starts to mount up too quickly.

BUT. The main joy and happiness and fun of the day and my life was that it SNOWED!!! *falls off chair with glee* Woke up around 7am (hadn't got to bed until half two, but never mind my lack of sleep), looked out the window - and bravely did not burst into tears when I saw not one speck of snow anywhere. Decided not to think about it, spent a happy thirty minutes opening my stocking presents and being gleefully at the prettiness of them all (I've been horribly spoilt this year and I wasn't expecting it). Decided at 7:35am that it was time to wake the 'rents (who also hadn't got to bed till half two), went into their room and bounced on the bed shrieking "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" Was sleepily instructed to (a) Stop bloody bouncing, and (b) Look at the window. GRATE SHRIEKS OF JOY followed when I opened the curtains to a white street, with snow still falling. Bounced off the walls for about two hours, ignoring all presents to watch the snow with glee. Bounced into the brother's room around 9am, screamed "IT'S SNOWING!!" a few times and bounced out again, swearing because I couldn't find the camera. Was disappointed when it all melted by mid-morning, was consoled with unexpected heaps of presents -'rents had sneakily bought everything off Amazon, wrapped it up, stuck it back in the one Amazon box and wrapped THAT up so I thought it was just one present. *grins* - then started shrieking again when it started to snow again. It's been snowing/melting on and off all day but around sevenish it started to snow in earnest and I actually got wrapped up and went out for a walk, practising my snowball making, writing Merry Christmas on every flat surface I could find and generally getting weird looks from the few, fairly miserable looking dog-walkers I passed. Tried to entice 'rents outside to throw some snowballs at them with no luck. Was outside for ages until it actually became an almost-blizzard and I couldn't see anymore because my glasses kept getting covered with snow. *smirks* So I came in but it KEPT SNOWING and now we have a good few inches. I'm hoping it's still here in the morning so I can go for a walk and take some good photos but even if it isn't, I'm still happy - WE HAD SNOW!!! SCHNEEBALLEN WHEE!! Do you know how often we have snow at Christmas?!! I remember ONE Christmas where we had snow which covered the ground and that snowed in the night, not actually on Christmas Day. WHITE CHRISTMAS OMG!!! ^___________^ Only now it's stopped because the clouds have cleared and I'm running to the window every five minutes to check it's still there. *grins*

So. I have had an absolutely wonderful Christmas and I hope you all had an equally good one. For me it's almost over for another year but I'll remember this Christmas. All that beautiful, beautiful snow...

For a final time this year - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!/HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! *hugs you all*
