.. it's like LJ rush-hour or something - everytime I reload my Friends page another two or three posts have appeared. 'Tis fun! I've also realised I leave comments to all these different people then forget where I posted them so if anyone replies to me and I never get back to you, or I tootle on in my oblivious little world, it's because I have a goldfish brain and forget things after three seconds. ^__^ I try.
I spent all of Classics involved in deeply interesting arguments that had absolutely nothing to do with Classics. I ranted against Nestle for a while, backed up nicely by a few others in the class. Then we did some reading so I hid my 'Better Than Life' book in the Aeneid (because reading the class text in class sucks ass, you have to admit) and read that. Then instead of doing the characters studies we had a ten minute chocolate break during which we discussed fantasy novels and I was told to read Katherine Kerr, after which we went on to argue about Stargate (Mark and another guy who I never would have labelled as 'Trek and S.G. nuts agreed with me and we had this whole involved discussion! Amazing!)then we moved swiftly on to Voyager, D.S.9, how much more interesting Greek gods are than the Christian one and finally a whole argument about whether heaven and hell actually exist and it would be better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven (hell yes!) So that was the grand total of my Classics learning today. We also want a class trip to Rome. *gleeful* I can't imagine Rome surviving in one piece.
Watched Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in Media for the first time today. Damn that film is GOOD. And Snatch is even funnier now I've seen it! It was brilliant, utterly fantastic. Which just goes to show you shouldn't label a genre crap until you've investigated further. I sincerely apologise to all the good gangster movies out there. I was wrong. Lock Stock and Snatch kick ass!
You know, occasionally, I just listen to people and they honestly must have no idea what *crap* they go on about. I must do it too, but sometimes I just want to say "Sorry, this is of no interest to me whatsoever, can you please shut the hell up?" The inner bitch squirming inside me. But just.... damn. I'll have to watch what I talk about in future to make sure I'm not that annoying. *reads back LJ entry* Uh..... starting from tomorrow. ^___~
I just snuck up on my cat and he jumped like a foot in the air. You think by now he'd have learned if he turned round and bit my hand off I wouldn't do it, but no. ^___^
I'm getting icon-twitchy. It's like.. "That person has better icons than me." *twitch* "I must make more icons. *twitchtwitch* So maybe i'll make some icons. Again. If I can't restrain myself.
