I've gone all Children-In-Need Support-y! As you can see from the icon. I'm trying to persuade my Dad to donate some money but he'll have forgotten by tomorrow so I'll have to remind him in the morning.
Was watching LotR yesterday and I realised exactly what was bugging me about Arwen; being the raging feminist that I am, when she was waving Aragorn off, all tearfully, I was sitting in front of the screen screaming; "Why the hell aren't you going too you bloody useless she-elf????!!!!!" Of course there are a million reasons why she couldn't and wouldn't (most importantly being the fact that no one could put up with Liv Tyler for the entire movie - sorry showing my dislike of the Tyler-woman - sorry Merc) but this is why I liked Eowyn, she went, she kicked ass, she came home again. Arwen waved them off, cried a few artisticly placed tears and remained firmly at home, kicking absolutely no ass at all. Then what does Aragorn do, he goes and marries the useless one!! FOOL!!! Although I suppose a king can't afford to marry anyone who might actually stand up to him in public. Eowyn kicking Aragorn's ass because he hadn't remembered her birthday may not go down too well with the citizens of Gondor. *grumbles about Tolkien being sexist* Okay the man wrote spectacular books but could he at least have had ONE woman who kicked ass and didn't end up meekly married off to some big strapping warrior-man?? Hhhmmmm?
Didn't mean to rant on at length but this is one of my current favourite subjects and I could go on for hours if I had a good person to argue with. However by now most people realise what I'm on about when I mention the name Arwen and their eyes glaze over. *snickers*
The Beauty and the Beast DVD is good. It reafirmed my opinion that Belle is my favourite Disney heroine and that the Beast looks much cuter as a Beast than as a man. Much cuddlier. *grins*
I really wish Smackdown was on Fridays instead of Raw because although I would rather watch Smackdown I hardly ever get to watch it on a Saturday. *pouts* Damn roster split. Damn Bischoff. *pushes Bish off a cliff* You give us all these irritating bikini matches and such, but when will you give us Jeff Hardy vs RVD in a swimming trunks match???? Is RVD on Smackdown? Dammit. Ok, Jeff vs other Raw wrestler of your choice. Ggggrr.
I think I hit a rambling moment there. I've basically talked about every subject my thoughts have gone through tonight. Well not all of them but the main ones. Hehe.
