Shouldn't it?! I don't understand why publishers seem to have trouble with such a simple concept.
My teeteringly-large to-read pile is glaring at me accusingly from the shelf but I suspect three paragraphs was enough to hook me on Sri Hong-Owen, lady captain, and another Amazon review tells me she shows up in The Quiet War too. I'm going to ask in the library for it first but failing that, it's sitting in my Amazon basket. (If I hadn't fallen in love with a character so quickly, I probably would've stuck it on my Wishlist with the other seventeen pages of books and maybe got back to it in a couple of years).
